Description    Mt Zion Community Church, 110 Dungeon Spring Road, Wytheville, Virginia which is a rural, loving church is seeking a part time pastor with a passion for Christ who preaches solely from the Bible with sermons led by prayer and the Holy Spirit. 

Pastor Job Description 

Qualifications: 

1. An ordained minister 
2. A pastor who engages in pastoral counseling, visitation, and pastoral care when needed. 
3. A soul-winner and disciple of Jesus who leads by example and whose personal walk with God is evident 
4. Demonstrate a high standard of moral and ethical character in keeping with the calling of Jesus Christ and a lifestyle congruent with the biblical requirements for leaders (1 Tim. 3:1-7; 5:17; 2 Tim. 2:1-3; 4:2; Titus 1:6-9) 
5. A person who exhibits a personal and growing relationship with God. 
6. A person of spiritual maturity with an active prayer life and ability to disciple others in spiritual disciplines (Gal. 5:22-23, 1 Cor. 13:1-7) 
7. A well-prepared Bible teacher who preaches relevant, biblically faithful sermons that clearly conveys the gospel, inspire believers to live lives worthy of the call of Christ 

Responsibilities: 

1. Provide and implement an overall vision for the church with the Church board/trustees. 
2. Serve as the spiritual leader of the church on Sunday morning and/or Wednesday evening and/or Sunday evening. 
3. Officiate the Lord’s Supper at least once per quarter. 
4. Meet with the church board members/trustees for discipleship, planning, etc. 
5. Plan and lead congregational worship services  
6. Conduct weddings, funerals, and baptisms as needed in accordance with the doctrinal commitments of our church. 
7. Attend monthly business meetings 
8. Personally visit the sick, shut-in, current members, and prospective members
