Church Bio:

LCBC is a southern Baptist church part of the Caldwell Baptist Association. We exist to be a church that helps our community ENGAGE the Gospel, EQUIP believers, and EMPOWER followers to see lives transformed in our community, city, state and world. Our purpose and mission is to follow the Great Commission and Great Commandment to be a church FOR our city with a disciple making culture to influence and impact the spiritual temperature here in Western North Carolina and beyond for God’s glory.

 

This church was founded in June of 1826, and we seek to be a multi-generational, cross cultural church where all are welcomed and find a place to belong here at LCBC. We have ministries and a leadership structure serving with Gospel centered priorities and Biblical core values.

 

The church has been through a lot over the years but our current size post Covid is 100. Our church congregation consists of 65% senior adults but have so many great leaders and passionate vessels to see the church revitalized to reach the older but the younger generations in our area.

 

 

Associate Pastor Job Description:

Overview

LCBC is seeking a high energy, passionate man of God to lead our family ministry. This individual will work with our current leadership, both staff and lay leadership to develop, grow and strengthen these areas of ministry. We are praying that this individual has a heart for all youth (birth -12th grade) and will have a vision that connects with the pastoral vision for LCBC to work with and develop our church and lead our community to grow, strengthen and disciple all ages in ministry and missions. This individual will work closely with our lead pastor but will administrate and lead specifically with the family ministry of LCBC.

 

General Responsibilities

●      Lead and develop our family ministry in great ways while diligently working to develop volunteers in efforts to enhance all areas of the family ministries here at LCBC

●      Creatively work with the lead pastor to deepen the vision of becoming more a multigenerational, cross-cultural church for our city

●      Develop, manage and minister the annual budgets for our Family Ministry.

●      Shepherd, train, manage, and care for all volunteers in the Family Ministries.

●      Develop a process to regularly identify and train new volunteers in the family ministries.

●      Creatively initiate evangelistic activities and events that will engage and reach our community

●      Develop a strategy to better partner with parents in the discipleship process of the children in the family ministry

●      Plan and direct Bible study groups, activities, events, retreats, camps and mission activities

●      Create a healthy environment utilizing our youth building to where the children of our community desire to come be a part but engage while feeling safe and secure at LCBC

●      Grow our family ministry (children and students) to be culturally relevant and fulfill the vision, mission and purpose of LCBC.

●      Develop relationships with all church members and community and be willing to be a team player with other duties as assigned.

Personal Development

●      Active and growing in his own walk with Christ, evidenced by actions, attitude and behavior setting a positive example for others by living as an authentic Gospel centered witness of Christ.

●      Able to set and achieve goals resulting in growth and discipleship with an Acts 1:8 missional mindset

●      Competent with basic computer skills and up to date on technology with the ability to reach out, connect and stay relevant in the culture today seeking to reach our families where they are and help them take their next steps in their walk

 

Requirements

●      Bachelor’s degree. Some formal training in church ministry/family ministry.

●      Agree and stand with the BFM 2000 (Baptist Faith & Message 2000)

●      Passionate about reaching out to the unchurched in the community, engaging them with the Gospel, and following the Holy Spirit to get them involved in the work of the church.

●      Be willing to fill the pulpit and help with other pastoral duties as needed (weddings, funerals, counseling, etc.).

●      A lifestyle that is congruent with the biblical requirements for elder (1 Tim. 3:1-13; 2 Tim. 2; Titus 1:5-9) and a calling to pastoral ministry.
