Director of Children's Ministries

Corinth Reformed Church (Hickory, NC) is looking for a dynamic, outgoing, enthusiastic person who has the natural gift of drawing children to him/herself and to the Lord. This person will have the ability to communicate effectively with children and their families, and will demonstrate a commitment to the high standards of Christian living and service to God.

The minimum requirements for our ideal candidate include:

• Bachelor’s degree in children’s ministry, education, or a related field
• 5 or more years experience working with children (birth-5th grade), church experience is strongly preferred
• 3 or more years experience supervising paid staff
• Demonstrated effectiveness in teaching children (birth-5th grade), teaching in a church environment is strongly preferred
• Proven success recruiting/managing volunteers
• Experience planning and leading large events
• Ability to work collaboratively as a team member in an environment of mutual submission

We have a thriving children’s ministry that includes Sunday School, children’s church, Wednesday night classes/studies, and a host of special events throughout the year. Some church favorites include our Easter Celebration (egg hunts, inflatables, face painting), Vacation Bible School, Trunk or Treat, and Jesus’ Birthday Party (gingerbread house decorating, pizza, and birthday cake).

This position is already well-supported by an active Board of Children’s Ministries and a faithful core group of volunteers, many of whom have been serving our children for years.

The Director of Children’s Ministries is a salaried 40-hour/week position. This job requires some evening and weekend work. Most frequently, the evening/weekend hours include Wednesday night programming (Sept-May), and Sunday mornings.
