Youth/Children’s Director-Part Time (Towne Baptist Church)
OVERVIEW: TBC is seeking a committed Christian disciple with a calling to minister to youth and children with the gospel of Jesus Christ. The candidate must possess the passion and ability to communicate and cast vision for ministry with parents, volunteers, and the church body.
Qualifications:
Personal Character
- Has trusted in Jesus as Lord and Savior and faithfully follows Him.
- Models for youth and families what it means to be a disciple of Jesus.
- Exhibits a love for Christ, His word, youth, and His church. o In line with the mission, vision, and values of TBC.
Requirements:
Education
- Prefer a candidate that has obtained or is in pursuit of a Bachelor’s degree.
Skills
- Able to effectively teach and communicate the Bible to youth and children, while coming alongside them to minister to them and help them mature in their faith.
- Relational in communication. Able to motivate, cast vision, and take initiative.
- Skilled in administration and strategic leadership (planning/equipping others).
- Physically able to engage with youth and children in various activities and trips.
- Models servant leadership in word and deed while being led by the Holy Spirit.
Responsibilities
- Shepherd the youth and children ministries through a life submitted to Jesus.
- Oversee youth and children’s ministries on Sunday and Wednesday evening.
- Plan and lead trips and social events that are gospel centered.
- Cast vision for and establish yearly goals for the youth and children’s ministries.
- Ensure that youth, children, and their parents are being reached out to weekly.
- Recruit and shepherd volunteers, and facilitate volunteer team meetings.
- Provide leadership while setting a Christ-like example for ministry.
- Attend and participate in regular staff meetings.
- Additional responsibilities as needed.
- Responsible to the Senior Pastor, who will supervise, evaluate and provide feedback to the personnel committee and deacons.
