Associate Pastor of Family Ministries

New Hope Baptist Church

This person reports to the: Senior Pastor

This Family Minster is considered a “Pastor”, which means, while he has areas of focused responsibility, he is expected to serve the church body at large when needed. No job guidelines can capture all the needs that will develop in a church family. The NHBC seeks a minister who will be a part of our family and will minister to this family and those beyond.

Qualifications:

· Give a clear testimony of salvation and a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

· Sense a clear call and conviction to Ministry

· Must adhere to the most recently adopted Baptist Faith and Message

· Be a team player (possess a willingness to do what is needed for the ministry)

Educational/Skills/Experience:

· College Degree is Required (Seminary Degree is preferred)

· Have a passion for families (Students, Children, and beyond)

· Able to work as a staff member (team) and to work independently in managing time

Expectations:

· Demonstrate by life and deed a life that communicates the gospel of Jesus

· Provide a complete Student Ministry (I.E. activities, evangelism, discipleship process, etc)

· Work in and through the Student (Youth) Committee to accomplish this process

· Oversee the Children’s Ministry by assisting the Children’s Committee

· Assist with the IT work of the Church Office and Worship Presentation

· Model personal worship both corporately and privately.

· Lead in the Wednesday Student Service

· Assists in the Leadership of VBS

· Attend Deacon’s Meeting (if possible) and Staff meetings

· Beyond the Student (Youth) Children’s Committee, accept other Committee assignments

· Fill the pulpit at the Pastor’s request

· Develop and Maintain good relationship within the Church family and the community

· Be a willing learner

· A CDL License will be helpful to be able to drive the church bus

· Maintain office hours as worked out with the Senior Pastor

· Attend staff meetings

· Accept other tasks as given by the Senior Pastor

NHBC is a rural church in Marion County, Mississippi. In the aftermath of COVID, the goal has been to reboot the church programming with an eye on the gospel future.

We are seeking someone who has an undeniable call from God to work toward building Christ's Kingdom through prayer, worship, evangelism, discipleship, ministry, fellowship, and missions.

NHBC is a very loving, stable, and caring church family. Presently, we have 2-morning services (Classic Contemporary) to reach people with the gospel. The Small Group ministry is just getting started along with the Soup Kitchen (named "The Upper Room"), and we are waiting to see where God leads us. Making a Kingdom impact is our goal.
