Vision: We are trusting God to lead us to a man with a pastor’s heart and a passion for the Gospel. He needs to be able to teach, occasionally preach, and counsel/disciple with the Word of God in order to see God’s people grow spiritually.
Summary: The Associate Pastor will work closely with the Senior Pastor. He will help to shepherd the flock through teaching, occasional preaching, and ministry oversight (children’s, youth, and adult ministries), and assisting the Senior Pastor as needed with other pastoral duties.
Relationships: He will report to the Senior Pastor (and the Elder Board).
Qualifications:
A. Meets the qualifications of elder as set forth in 1 Timothy 3:1-7 and Titus 1:5-9.
B. Loves God deeply and is committed to prayer.
C. Joyfully holds to the final authority of God’s Word without apology or compromise.
D. Has a passion for evangelism and discipleship.
E. Agrees with, and is able to teach and defend from the Scriptures the theology of the Good Shepherd Statement of Faith.
F. Models loving leadership as a husband and father, if married/children.
G. Humbly possesses gifts in leadership, teaching, preaching, and organization.
H. Is able to develop, encourage, and lead volunteer teams effectively.
I. Supports the Senior Pastor and promotes a spirit of love and unity among staff and congregation.
J. Seeks to always resolve conflict biblically and quickly.
K. Desires to help lead and participate in church events and gatherings to grow personally and lead by example.
L. Has earned a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited Bible college or a Master’s degree from an accredited seminary.
Compensation: A competitive salary and benefits package for this full-time associate pastor role will be based upon education, experience, and qualifications.
