Associate Pastor of Worship

Creative Planning & Programing

• Lead and design musical/creative content for weekend worship that is suitable to the multi-generational congregation.
• Be an advocate for the use of a variety of styles of worship while theologically grounded in God’s word.
• Coordinate with other pastors to support the message, preaching and philosophy of ministry at Lincoln Avenue.
• Create, plan, and/or facilitate additional opportunities in various arts such as drama, visual art, etc. for all age groups such as Children’s Ministry, small groups, retreats, Bible study groups, community choirs, etc.
• Work closely with the production team and other creative team leads and members.
• Coordinate service logistics including recruitment and direction of participants.

Musical Direction

• Create and lead Sunday morning and special event worship music as the primary worship leader.
• Lead and develop the worship team(s) and their spiritual growth as well as their technical musical abilities.
• Lead and direct our choir and band, instrumentally and vocally doing what you do for the glory of God and the good of others.
• Stay current and maintain a high level of knowledge of new practices and art forms that could better lead people in worship.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills that reflect the ability to work effectively and collaboratively with other staff in an effort to foster a spirit of unity.
• Ability to make administrative/procedural decisions and judgments.
• Recognizes one’s own strengths and weaknesses and is resourceful in supplementing with others those areas where additional skills are required.
• Technical experience may include but not be limited to digital audio workstations, synthesizers, composing software, Planning Center Online, and Mac computers.

Education & Experience

• Demonstration of a clear calling to worship ministry is required.
• Requires knowledge, skill, and maturity equivalent to completion of a bachelor's degree.
• Preference will be given to candidates with a related degree.
• 3+ years of worship leading experience is preferred.
• Must adhere to the Baptist Faith and Message 2000
