Campus Pastor - Colorado Springs

Church of the Front Range

Job Description

ROLE DESCRIPTION

The Campus Pastor is the primary leader and shepherd of the Revolution Church congregation attending the Colorado Springs Campus. The Campus Pastor must be a revival runner in full pursuit of Christ, with a burning heart longing for more of Him, His presence, His power, and His purpose – and a passionate desire to lead others to do the same.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • UNITY – Provide vision and purpose for both congregation and staff that is tightly aligned with the global Revolution Church mission, vision, values, and its leadership
  • SPIRITUAL TEMPERATURE – Model and inspire a culture of people who seek after the face of God in worship, in prayer, in His word, and in following His Spirit
  • BURNING HEARTS – God has never counted bodies but hearts, hearts wholly His – the Campus Pastor must not be distracted by the number of bodies in the room, but instead focused on how white hot their love for God is; and the Campus Pastor must, above all else, nurture and demonstrate his/her own burning heart of love for the Lord
  • DISCIPLESHIP – Disciple believers toward growth, teaching them to:

o  Worship – Prioritize God’s place and God’s praise

o  Word – Read, Reflect, and Respond to God’s word daily or almost daily

o  Give – Tithe (first 10%), give (anything beyond the tithe), and give generously

o  Serve – Be a regular contributor to their local church in service both vertically (participating in 24/7 prayer and worship) and horizontally (serving on a ministry team)

  • EVANGELISM – Drive outreach, evangelistic, and invitational efforts to reach those outside the church with the gospel
  • CONNECTIONS – Ensure newcomers feel welcome, have a great experience, and are provided with next steps and follow-up to move them from a visitor to a connected congregant
  • MOBILIZATION – Move the congregation toward active volunteerism vertically and horizontally
  • PASTORAL CARE – Ensure that the hurting and vulnerable are receiving support; that relational conflicts are led toward forgiveness and reconciliation; and that major milestones are appropriately celebrated and officiated
  • COMMUNICATION – While the Campus Pastor is not expected to preach on a regular basis, the ability to effectively and perseveringly communicate the mission, vision, and purpose of Revolution Church is essential

SKILLS

  • VISION CASTING – Inspires faith, unity, and forward momentum by articulating a clear, compelling, All-Word, All-Prayer, All-Worship, and All-Spirit vision for the campus
  • TEAM BUILDING – Recruits, equips, and empowers staff, volunteers and leaders who carry the mission forward with excellence, through ongoing coaching, intentional discipleship, and meaningful serving opportunities
  • SPIRITUAL LEADERSHIP – Models a vibrant, whole-hearted devotion to Christ that spurs on others to abandon the pursuits of this life in order to pursue deeper intimacy, obedience, and devotion to Him

About the Church of the Front Range

WHO WE ARE

OUR MISSION

Our Mission to Love the Lord Our God with All Our Heart, Soul, Mind and Strength; and Second, to Teach Others to Do the Same.

OUR VISION

A revolution that returns to its roots, that rights what is wrong, revives what is dying, reclaims what is lost.

We know that there was once a community of Christians who, against all odds, and in the face of persecution and powerful pressures to extinguish them, lived out their faith in such a way that Jesus transformed an empire from worshiping an emperor into worshiping Jesus in only a few generations. We do not believe there has to be a gap between what we read in our New Testaments and what we experience today. Instead, we dream of a revolution.

OUR VALUES

Faith, Hope Love that Listens, Gives Does

Unwavering Faith

(James 1:6, Hebrews 11:1, Hebrews 11:6)

We stand on what He says.

We don’t fall for what we see.

Unshakeable Hope

(Hebrews 6:19)

Confident in His character, we’re courageous in crisis.

Uncommon Love

(John 13:34)

Do for one what you cannot do for all, and the testimony will do for all what was for one.

Undivided Dependence

(Proverbs 3:5-6)

Competence is dependence in the Kingdom of God.

Unsparing Generosity

(Psalm 34:10, 2 Peter 1:3)

Lacking nothing, we can give everything.

Uncompromising Obedience

(John 8:31)

As He says it, He sees it.

WHAT’S UNIQUE ABOUT US?

Church of the Front Range is a body of believers who live for the all-all pursuit of God: All Worship, all Prayer, all Word and all Spirit.

All Worship

Unsung praise is the holy discontent of our hearts. We believe that God who is worthy of all should be worshipped with all in all the ways prescribed in Scripture. We worship with pure praise, not for the sake of our comfort, our preference or what we get out of it, but for what God gets out of it.

All Prayer

We won’t stop short of being a people who reclaim and spearhead a movement of dependence and desperation in the place of prayer so that His Kingdom will come and His will be done in our lives, in our church, on the front range, and on the frontiers of world mission.

All Word

We are called to be a people who seek God in His Word daily, and a people who obey God’s Word fully, not picking and parceling out parts and pieces. We are committed to preaching the full counsel of God’s Word in church, not just the palatable parts or culturally accepted scriptures.

All Spirit

We want all of what He can do and all of what He wants to do. We want every spiritual grace/gift to flourish in its fullness here. We want to be led by the Spirit of God, experience the Spirit of God and celebrate the fullness of what He does.
