POSITION: Executive Pastor

HOURS: Exempt, Full-time, Salary 

REPORTS TO: Lead Pastor


JOB FUNCTION: Oversee and develop church administration, finances, staff, and operations. Set goals for staff to accomplish the church's mission and vision. Support, coach, and assess staff, implement processes to optimize operational capabilities and manage resources effectively.


RESPONSIBILITIES:


SPIRITUAL

  • Profess Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord

  • Consistent, long-term track record of Christ-like behavior and a God-honoring reputation
  • Must be committed and in unity with the mission, vision, and values of LAVC


ADMINISTRATIVE

  • New Hire administration (HR documents, resumé review, set up interviews, employee onboarding and orientation, etc.)
  • Assist Lead Pastor with budget oversight, development, and management 
  • Oversee Information Technology, Project Management, Facilities Management, Insurance, Church Management Software and Marketing/Communications
  • Conduct staff reviews and oversee development of staff spiritual and professional growth
  • Facilitate the annual strategic planning process including evaluation of ministry performance; review of mission, vision, and core values; and establishment of goals
  • Develop annual financial plans and ensure all business decisions are in unity with the goals and mission of the church


PASTORAL

  • Maintain and develop ministerial relations; communicate and perform administrative duties as necessary
  • Develop and oversee benevolence ministry
  • Provide pastoral care  
  • Lead the ministry staff in the establishment and ongoing direction of ministries that effectively reach the church’s demographic, insuring the accomplishment of the overall mission
  • Regularly communicate our vision, values, and mission to the church and staff
  • Adhere to the values, core beliefs, and genetic code of the Vineyard and stay connected to the larger Vineyard movement
  • Lead the staff by directing them in their management of all church operations
  • Schedule and lead church staff meetings
  • Manage the staff organizational chart
  • Maintain staff policies, procedures, and best practices
  • Solve interpersonal conflict or other team challenges
  • Ability to preach and teach

  • Strong interpersonal, relational, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Coordinate a staff of people (encourage, oversee, guide, and assist)

  • Willing to model Kingdom expectations and spiritual gifting, even outside of personal strengths
  • Excellent administrative, communication & computer skills

  • Highly professional
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Experience in public communications, team building, training, and management
  • Ability to lead others and create/sustain organizational structures

  • Loyalty and dedication to LAVC, mission, values & leadership


EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE


  • Bachelor's Degree 
  • Master’s Level certification or degree in related field and/or advanced training in Orthodox Christian theology and biblical leadership 
  • Proven experience in casting vision and leading missional disciple-making communities
  • Proven work experience managing budgets and accounts preferred but not required
  • Seminary/theological training preferred but not required
