Crossroads Church of Chippewa Falls, WI is seeking to fill a full-time position for Senior Pastor as our current pastor of 18 years is being called to retirement and will be relocating to a new area. We are saddened to lose him, but at the same time we are excited that God has someone already chosen to lead us from here – could it be you? We are a small-town church based in a small-town place, but both feel big in many ways. Currently the paid staff at Crossroads consists of senior pastor, youth pastor, secretary, bookkeeper, and a maintenance/janitorial person.

Duties:

• Function as the primary pastor, teaching, preaching and overseeing all Sunday morning preaching and activities including Sunday School, worship, pulpit fill, etc. to ensure all teaching is sound, gospel centered and grounded in the Word of God.

• Provide direct leadership to the pastoral and office staff and serve as a mentor for the youth pastor and ensure all staff members fulfill the requirements of their job descriptions.

• Train and disciple leaders, equipping and empowering the church to do the work of ministry

(Ephesians 4).

• Work alongside the Elders to strategize, lead, and implement church-wide initiatives to further the church mission and the kingdom of God.

• Offer pastoral care to members and regular attenders who are hospitalized or shut in.

• Encourage church membership and plan and lead training as needed designed to give new attenders and those interested in membership a full orientation of the church’s ministry and beliefs.

• Provide short term counseling to couples (pre-marital and marriage) or individuals within the church, maintaining the highest standards of moral integrity, biblical counsel, and confidentiality.

• Adhere to the defined principles within the Crossroads Church Constitution.

Character Requirements:

• Be the spiritual leader, preaching and teaching the Word encouraging a practical Christian life.

• Be a godly man striving to meet the biblical standards for church leaders as found in 1 Timothy, 3:1-7; Titus 1:6-9.

• Maintain confidentiality of church financial and business status along with congregational records and information.

• Manifest by precept and example Christian virtue and personal decorum, serving as a role model both in and out of the church (1 Timothy 4:12).

• Hold to a biblical worldview that relates to current culture.

• Agreement with the Bible for standards of sexual behavior over what is deemed culturally relevant.

• Follow the biblical instructions regarding correction or disagreements and utilize biblical principles of Matthew 18:15-17 and Galatians 6:1.

• Resolve differences biblically striving to do so in private or within the Christian community as much as practicable, making amends in conformity with biblical injunctions of 1 Corinthians 6:1-8, Matthew 5:23-24, and Matthew 18:15-20 whenever it is appropriate to do so.

• Refrain from outside employment apart from church unless approved by the Elder Board.

Qualifications:

• 5-10 years’ ministerial experience preferred.

• Bachelor’s degree in ministerial studies required, seminary degree would be an advantage.

• Experience serving with leadership boards.

• Background in preaching or teaching God’s word prepping and delivering messages.

Salaried Compensation package including benefits is determined by qualifications.

A Message From Our Pastor -

I have had the privilege and honor to serve in four churches full time, one as youth pastor and three as the Sr. Pastor.

All the churches I have served had their share of challenges and blessings. I am thankful for them all. Lord willing, I will retire after 40 years in church ministry.

The past 18 years I have shared the ministry with the people of Crossroads Church. This church was a good fit for me. The problems have been difficult, but few. The joys have been many and full. It has been a wonderful experience for me.

We have a purpose statement that begins, "We are a growing church family." While we have grown slowly over the years, we really have grown as a family. People care for one another. They are patient, kind and encouraging.

We have on several occasions taken the Natural Church Development surveys. Each time the results have shown us to be a healthy church. A big part of our church health is how well we get along. In these times when too many congregations seem ready and willing to fight over doctrine, politics, money and other issues, we really enjoy worshiping, serving and witnessing to the Lord together.

For those looking for a healthy, friendly, and inviting church, I highly recommend Crossroads. It has been a delight to my soul and a labor of love.
