Job Description

BACKGROUND

Oakland City Church consists of “people who don’t belong together gathered around Jesus for the sake of those who don’t belong”. OCC lives on the corner of Coolidge and MacArthur with a congregation of 100 who worship together each Sunday at 9:30 AM. The Facilities Coordinator is an in person position working Sundays and as needed.


Status: Part-Time (20 hours a week)

Compensation: $23-$26 an hour

Benefits: Vacation and sick time. 

On-Site Position: Must be on-site Sundays 7:30am - 1pm, the rest of the schedule is to be coordinated between Senior Pastor and Facilities Coordinator 


REQUIREMENTS

  • Knowledgeable in areas of building maintenance, grounds keeping, janitorial products, etc.
  • Detail oriented, with strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Able to prioritize jobs and work in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment.
  • Mechanically inclined, able to operate standard maintenance and groundskeeping equipment and tools.
  • Physically able to walk, stand, climb stairs, lift up to 80 pounds, and work outdoors for prolonged periods of time.
  • Available to work weekends and extended hours during the week

DUTIES

Building Management: 

  • Oversees and trains staff and volunteers on safety protocols
  • Attend weekly staff meetings ahead of church functions, as directed.
  • Train all facilities volunteers and host 2 yearly all church cleanup.
  • Work in close liaison with the Custodian for the weekly cleaning of the property, custodian work areas and supplies.
  • Assist with set up and cleanup for 2 Sundays per month.
  • Keep all church storage areas, tools and equipment clean and organized.
  • Interface with vendors and contractors for required services.
  • Schedule and/or perform preventative and small repair maintenance needs.
  • Assist Church Administrator in monitoring building use and contract compliance of groups and guest events.
  • Maintain exterior of the building and grounds of the church including: trash removal, painting, signage and other responsibilities that relate to the outward appearance of the building and grounds except landscaping.
  • Be conscious of the overall aesthetics of the property.

Facilities and Special Events:

  • Set-up, tear-down, and cleanup of rooms for special church events as needed.
  • Coordinate with other staff to ensure excellent and consistent event planning. 
  • Facilities: execute tenant agreements and one-time usage and payments
  • Point of contact and host for midweek building renters as needed 


RELATIONSHIPS

  • This position reports to the Lead Pastor.
  • This position supervises the Janitor
