The Organist/Accompanist will serve the church by providing musical leadership during worship services and other programs.
Primary Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
· Accompany congregational worship singing during worship.
· Accompany choirs and soloists during rehearsals, worship services and other church programs.
· Select and offer preludes, offertories, postludes, and other special music that support the liturgy as requested by Director of Music or Pastor
· As requested, partner with the Director of Music and Pastor to determine appropriate music for worship services and other church programs including all internal & external music events.
· As requested, recommend and help coordinate needed maintenance to musical instruments.
· As requested, Direct choir(s) in absence of other choir directors
· Organist will attend Worship & Music Committee meetings as requested by the Pastor or Director of Music
· Arrange for substitutes during absence with approval of the Director of Music
· Provide organ music for all weddings and funerals held at the church. Consult with wedding couples and families as requested.
· Perform other necessary duties as assigned.
Position Summary: Director of Music (Part time, 20-25 hours per week)
The Director of Church Music serves the church by developing, coordinating and administering a meaningful and well rounded
music program that aims to enrich the worshiping life of all our members and guests. This position will work
with the Pastor and Worship & Music Committee to lead and coordinate musical initiatives happening in the church
(both internal & external) while also supervising staff and volunteers associated with the music ministry.
