Job Description

ABOUT THE POSITION

Purpose: To help shepherd the saints of Lake Hills Baptist Church (LHBC) alongside the other pastors, exercising oversight, with an emphasis on equipping LHBC to worship God in music and overseeing young adult ministry (ages 19-29).

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES

1. Oversee corporate worship services. This includes song and Scripture selection, scheduling musicians, vocalists, tech volunteers, rehearsing, equipping team members, engaging the congregation to worship, all in collaboration with the pastor who is preaching (primarily Pastor Jacob) that weekend.

2. Launch and oversee a young adult ministry. Work with current willing young adults to prayerfully launch a vibrant ministry for young adults with the help of other godly volunteers.

3. Help shepherd the sheep. Provide pastoral care, praying regularly for them, visiting the sick, counseling God’s Word, teaching in various capacities (Life Group, Sunday School classes, D-Groups), participate in pastor/elders meetings, and help foster gospel-centered community among the pastors as an example to the flock.

4. Identify, recruit, train, and equip team members and worship leaders. Regularly build relationships with those gifted in music and tech, inviting them to tryouts, encouraging them to participate, but also triaging and redirecting those who may need more time. Find those who can lead on their own and equip them to do so under your oversight. Mentor and equip worship leaders for ALIVE student ministry and other ministries that may arise.
