Associate Pastor

Welcome to Cornerstone Church. We seek a full-time Associate Pastor to serve our congregation in Uxbridge, MA. The right leader will possess a pastoral heart and instinct, a passion for gospel-driven ministry, and a proven record of providing spiritual guidance for the growth of God’s people (1 Peter 5:1-5). Qualifications

• A vital and growing relationship with Jesus Christ (2 Peter 1:5-8).

• Meets the qualifications of an elder (1 Tim 3:1-7).

• A Bachelor’s or Master of Arts degree in biblical or theological studies from an accredited institution.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

• Passionate about developing God’s people for the work of the ministry (Ephesians 4:11-14).

• Excellent listening skills (Proverbs 18:13; James 1:19).

• Dedicated to the biblical principles of peacemaking (Romans 12:18; Matthew 5:9).

Responsibilities

• Support and complement the Lead Pastor, collaborate with the staff (paid and unpaid) and elders, with excellence to fulfill the mission of the church.

• Ability to preach occasionally.

• Oversight of all adult discipleship ministries: 20:20Life (small groups), coaching marriages to health, developing semester Institute courses, and oversight of the assimilation processes.

• Oversight of outreach: local and global missions, and community.

• Create pathways for the development of ministry leadership.

• Perform other duties as assigned.

Our mission: In order to align ourselves with the Great Commission recorded in Matthew 28:18-20, this Church will be committed to an outward focus by placing the needs of those who are not yet followers of Christ ahead of the needs of those who are. We summarize the idea this way, “Another for Christ at any cost to us!”

Our vision: To exalt Christ by making disciples who transform our community and the nations with the power of God’s word, and the life changing message of the gospel; to make disciples of Christ who make disciples of Christ.

Our means: The means of making devoted followers of Christ at Cornerstone are by establishing and maintaining gospel-centered Worship, Outreach, Relationships and Discipleship.
