Worship/Creative Director

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead weekend services to help all people know God and serve others, thinking through the lens of someone who is new to church and far from God.

• Lead the worship planning process to create, plan, and implement worship experiences.

• Oversee recruiting, training, onboarding, scheduling, development, and care of the Worship Team.

• Work closely with the online and tech leader to implement and ensure excellence.

POTENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

• Oversee communications, social media or another ministry area based on skill set and/or experience.

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES

• Participate in staff meetings, denominational activities/meetings, and Irresistible Church Network (North Point Church/Ministries) activities as directed by the Lead Pastor.

• Support other First Naz ministry areas as needed.

• Participate in weddings, funerals, and other functions as needed.

WE ARE LOOKING FOR SOMEONE WHO

• Has the ability to lead well vocally.

• Is clearly articulate - who has the ability to feel comfortable on stage where it is natural for them to speak between songs, pray, set up different elements of the service, etc.

• Is creative - who has the ability to take the Lead Pastor’s “big idea” (given 6-12 weeks in advance) and creatively plan worship services using a variety of experiential elements centered around the big idea. Creativity over time is critical.

• Is a magnetic leader - who has the ability to lead the existing team well and draw new team members.

First Nazarene Church is a growing, vibrant church community that desires to reach and impact our local community. Our congregation dates back to 1904 but we have shifted to our post-modern culture to successfully reach those from God in our context today. In fact, we’ve grown by 20% in the last two years by reaching our target, young families, primarily through NazPreschool (120 students), Nazarene Recreation (3,000+ registrations a year), NazStudents and NazKids ministries.

First Naz's mission is to know God and serve others, and today our ministry is at a crucial moment of continuing to fuel our momentum of reaching those far from God while discipling those in all faith stages in our church to be deeper and closer to Jesus.
