Role Details
Schedule: Sunday-Thursday
Job Type: Full-Time (40-45 hrs/week), Salaried
Reports to: Creative Arts Pastor
Role Summary
The Communications Director is responsible for the upkeep, oversight, and execution of all communications and marketing tasks (below) with excellence in order to help members of Valley View take next steps in their faith.
Key Responsibilities
Digital Communications
- Creatively build and manage Valley View’s digital following on platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, and X with meaningful posts, shorts, reels, etc.
- Collaborate with the Production Director in the execution of the Sunday morning live stream.
- Appropriately promote ministry events and opportunities to the church.
- Update and manage Valley View’s website.
- Lead digital outreach initiatives in partnership with ReachTheLost.
- Create and oversee registrations for church events, classes, and special opportunities.
- Manage ProPresenter content for weekend services.
In-Person Communications
- Manage all communication elements in physical spaces of the church building (signage, print pieces, TV slides, etc.).
- Recruit and schedule well-spoken individuals for Sunday morning stage elements (communion, welcome, announcements, offering, etc.).
- Plan and schedule giving focuses for Sunday morning Offering.
Design, Brand, & Marketing Management
- Work with PixelPainters design group to fulfill graphic design needs of the church.
- Monitor the look of all promotional materials representing Valley View.
- Actively work to integrate Valley View branding into the physical spaces of the church.
Other
- Meet weekly with Creative Arts Pastor for creative and administrative alignment
- Contribute to the creative planning of special events (Christmas, Easter, worship nights, etc.)
- Help coordinate and administer the execution of church-wide events
- Be gracious in partnering with ministry leads to fulfill their needs
- Lead the planning and execution of a TBD startup creative project (possible examples: podcast, YouTube content)
Qualifications & Required Skills
- A personal relationship with Jesus Christ that is growing and thriving with a heart for local church ministry.
- A degree in communications, media, or related field, OR a proven track record of 2-4 years of church communications experience.
- A highly-organized individual with a high attention to detail.
- A creative thinker that is aesthetically oriented.
- A familiarity with Church Center apps (mainly Services, People, & Registrations).
- A general familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite programs (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, etc.).
- Bonus but not required: photography/videography skills
