Job Description

To oversee the spiritual development of Living Hope’s overall Children’s Ministry that includes LH Kids, D6 Wednesday Night Program and Wee Care Early Center. This role will provide a safe and welcoming environment for children to build a strong spiritual foundation through a relationship with Jesus Christ and to help parents become the primary spiritual influence in their child’s life. The Children Ministries Leader will report to the Pastoral Team Leader. As the direct report for this position, they will collaborate on the vision and implementation of the LH Kids Program, including D6, and work closely with the Director of Wee Care Early Center ensuring continuity between all the children’s programs.


Summary of Responsibilities:


·      Be the primary spokesperson for all Children’s Ministries.

·      Create and communicate a vision for LH Kids and WeeCare based on the Living Hope mission, vision, and core values.

·      Create and maintain a loving and safe Childcare environment for infants and toddlers.

·      Develop and implement a curriculum plan that is engaging, Biblical, and age-appropriate for toddlers through fifth graders.

·      Develop opportunities to minister to Wee Care children, parents, and staff, with the goal of integrating them into the body of Living Hope.

·      Coordinate with the pastor(s) and staff to integrate Children’s Ministries within the church and ensure that they support other ministries.

·      Incorporate discipleship that encourages kids to grow in their relationship with God.

·      Recruit, train, & care for volunteers with diverse gifts and personalities.

·      Collaborate with the Director of Student Ministries to create a smooth transition from LH Kids to LH Youth.

·      Manage the overall health and safety policies in Children’s ministry, including the registration and check-in process.

·      Establish and manage the Children’s Ministries budgets with integrity and efficiency.


The Ideal Candidate will…

·      Be an individual who exhibits a personal and growing relationship with Jesus Christ with a humble, teachable Spirit.

·      Be an individual with experience in leadership within a local church children’s ministry.

·      Be capable of creating and executing a long-term vision for building up young families at Wee Care Early Learning Center, LH Kids (infants - 5th grade), and D6 at Living Hope.

  • Have a Biblical or Educational degree.
  • Train, lead, and equip volunteers.
  • The candidate should have basic computer skills, experience in Microsoft Office Suite, and the ability to learn to utilize our current church management software.

·      Be a builder, creatively driven, being both missional and administratively minded.

·      Be an engaging teacher and caregiver with a strong biblical background who agrees with the Living Hope Statement of Faith, Mission, and Values.

·      Either possesses or is willing to study for a degree in Early Childhood education.


Expectations

·      A commitment to Living Hope’s Mission, Purpose and Core Values.

·      Maintain a minimum of 40 weekly work hours.

·      Attend weekly staff meetings.

·      Meet regularly with the PTL for support, guidance, development, and encouragement.

·      Attend and be a support at services and special meetings.

·      Provide ministry updates to supervision at assigned times.

·      Stay current on church ministry practice through available resources and conferences.

·      Willingness to use personal vehicle for ministry use.

·      Submit to an annual job performance review.

 

 

Considerations: This position requires you to work some evenings and Saturdays, depending on the church schedule. You are also required to work on Sunday.

About Living Hope

Living Hope is a Christ-centered, bible teaching church with a mission to engage our church, community, and world with the Living Hope of Jesus Christ. We are a suburban Philadelphia ministry located in Langhorne, PA, with a desire to authentically live out our faith in Christ by seeking to meet our community's physical and spiritual needs.  We currently have an average Sunday morning attendance of 600. Living Hope operates Wee Care Early Learning Center a Keystone Four Star early learning center with an enrollment of approximately 170 children. Living Hope also operates a food pantry that serves the physical needs of approximately 200 families monthly. Living Hope employs approximately 50 PT/FT employees, including Wee Care staff.
