Regarding Charismatic Gifts (Tongues, Prophecy and Healing), although it may not be the most widely held believe in this church culture, choose every belief that a Pastor could hold and still be successful in your church.   Y – A few believers experience Charismatic gifts, but they are not normal for believers today.  Gifts are not normal for all believers today. It is also the Senior Pastor’s position that there will be an increase in thee gifts as we approach the Day of the Lord.

Role of Women in Leadership:

1.       Women may teach women and children but not fill roles of teaching and leadership over men.

2.       Women may fill any leadership role other than elder or pastor.  We embrace the role of women in ministry except in the office of Pastor and Elder.

Authority in the Church:

1.   The Lead Pastor serves as the leader of the leaders, whether it be staff or volunteer leaders.

2.   In regards to staff, the Lead Pastor oversees the staff.

3.   In regards to lay leaders on the governing Board, the Lead Pastor provides leadership to the Board, yet also serves the Board.

4.   The Lead Pastor’s authority is partly inherited through the culture of the church and partly earned through competence. The congregation or leaders may remove or overrule the Lead Pastor.

Divorce.

Remarriage after Divorce.

1.       A believer may seek remarriage if the divorce was due to adultery or desertion.

2.       A believer may seek remarriage if the divorce was due to abuse.

2.       Persons who were divorced after salvation, due the adultery, desertion or abuse may hold leadership positions.

Please state any other information you would want a candidate to know that has not been covered so far:

1.       Theological Distinctives.  We are a Christ centered and Bible believing Church who seek to live according the inerrant, infallible, and authoritative Word of God. As such we work to interpret the scriptures with a Literal-Grammatical-Historical hermeneutic.

2.       We also see God’s work with humanity through a Premillennial Dispensational framework. As such we use this theological perspective to provide a matrix to understand God’s grace filled work with mankind from Genesis to Revelation.

3.       Our Eschatology is a pre-tribulational, premillennial understanding of how and when Jesus will rapture His church and return to the earth as King and Judge of this world in His 2nd Coming.

4.       We are strongly committed to missions, indicated by our support of over 13 missionaries, Converge Worldwide and Converge North Central with 11% of our annual budget. We also encourage and have facilitated many short-term mission trips in partnership with career missionaries.

5.       Leadership Distinctives: The formal leadership structure and decision-making authority of Faith are described in our Constitution under Article V, Policy and our By-Laws. The Elders and the Church Council operate essentially like the By-Laws dictate with few exceptions. The actual culture of this governmental structure differs slightly due to practicality.

6.       The church is congregational led, however with only one annual meeting, and special meetings called as needed, monthly decision are delegated to the Church Council composed of the Elders, Deacons, with the Senior (Lead) Pastor numbered among the Elders. All other pastoral staff attend Council meetings as nonvoting, resources for each ministry.

7.       The daily operations of the church are delegated to the Pastors and Staff with the Senior (Lead) pastor responsible to the Church Council for the ministry of his staff.

8.       Presently the Senior (Lead) Pastor and the staff work as a team to coordinate the various ministries of the church with are under their direct control. The Senior (Lead) Pastor oversees and coaches their ministry areas, but does not control what, when or how they do their work. If they need help in their ministry areas, the Senior Pastor is available as a resource and a coach.

9.       Philosophy of Ministry In respect to the church body and its spiritual development, we hold that the Holy Spirit provides both numerical and spiritual growth. Leadership provides the environment for growth, but it is the responsibility of the individual believer to be engaged in daily habits of growth and to be in fellowship with other like-minded believers who are encouraging one another’s healthy spiritual growth. IF a person requests help or we observe a spiritual need, the Elders or pastoral staff will work to disciple and coach them until they are healthy again.  It is however, not the responsibility of the Pastoral staff or the elders to reach out to the entire congregation to make sure they are healthy. We believe it is the work of the healthy body of Christ, with all its spiritual gifting and empowerment by the Spirit, to attend to the spiritual welfare and health of the believer in our fellowship.

10.  Technology Preference As a church: We have embraced Apple Computer technology across our staff team and in our worship and ministry applications. The Senior (Lead) Pastor must either be fluent in that technology or willing to learn these systems.

Very committed to church’s commitment to the district ministry of Converge.

Very committed to the church’s commitment to the national ministry of Converge.

Current Lifecycle State of the church is mature.

Next step in the Lifecycle is refining but mostly maintaining.

Intentionality is focused primarily on believers.

A good fit for candidate who:

Has a mentor’s heart that guides believers to discover and use their gifts. They prepare believers to use their gifts and holding them accountable to be impactful in their sphere of influence. They will ask a church to be willing to be held accountable to becoming equipped and deployed to action.

Has a bold heart that speaks God’s truth with authority. They present the body with God’s truth to life situations and encouraging them to submit to God even when it is difficult. They will ask a church to be willing to hear Biblical correction and courageously confront issues.
