Chinese Pastor

The First Ithaca Chinese Christian Church (FICCC) is located at Ithaca, New York, affiliated with Evangelical-Free denomination. Ithaca is a beautiful university town with a population of about 30,000 and is home to Cornell University and Ithaca College.

The vision of the church is to reach students and scholars with the gospel, equipping and sending workers for God’s kingdom. The church is composed of a devoted and faithful group of brothers and sisters, with both Chinese and English worship services. On average, over 20 people are baptized each year. By God’s grace, this small church has grown spiritually and has sent out 18 full-time ministers, as well as many church leaders and workplace evangelists, over the past 30 years.

We welcome pastors for Chinese ministry with a heart for students and scholar evangelism and discipleship to join our ministry team.

Pastoral Ministry Vision:

To impact lives through life, leading the congregation to know the truth through teaching and caring, deepening spiritual growth, and expanding campus evangelism. The goal is to cultivate lifelong servants of Christ who love the Lord, have a heart for the lost, love the local church, and worship God with their lives.

Qualifications:

• Called by God and willing to serve and build up a university town church.

• Solid biblical foundation and alignment with the church's statement of faith.

• Passion for evangelism, shepherding, disciple-making, and training co-workers.

• Loving character, mature interpersonal and communication skills, and leadership and management abilities.

• Fluent in both Chinese and English. Being married is preferred.

• Seminary graduate and North American study experience preferred.

Ministry Responsibilities:

• Oversee the church’s Chinese ministry.

• Work with the church leadership to advance the church’s vision.

• Shepherd, disciple, and train current and future co-workers.
