The Director of Student Ministry is responsible to love, lead, manage, and hold accountable all BRAVE Church, Westminster Campus, Student Ministry personnel and programming for middle school and high school children. Competencies vital for success in this role include leadership, preaching, organization, team building, problem solving, initiator, and collaborator.
The Director of Student Ministry is a leader who is passionate about advancing the gospel and sold out for the mission of BRAVE Church. This person is a seasoned church leader that is elder qualified in accordance with 1 Timothy 3 and Titus 1. They must be a seasoned ministry leader who is humble, trustworthy, flexible, meticulous, and hard working. Additionally, the Director of Student Ministry must possess excellent administrative, pastoral, preaching, managerial, organizational, and leadership skills with exceptional interpersonal competencies.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
BRAVE Students:
- Build Culture: Build a culture of leaders and servants that are passionate about Courageously Advancing God's Kingdom.
- Build Teams: Find, train, and deploy contagious ministries leaders and teams.
- Bring Vision: Plan and create annual plans, retreats, & events.
- Bring Passion: Use God's calling and gifts to accelerate BRAVE Student ministry to the nations.
- Preach Boldly: Preach the authority of God's word without apology.
- Pray Often: Rely on prayer personally and build a culture of prayer throughout the student ministry.
EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED
- Full-Time Student Ministry Experience (5+ years minimum).
- Theological Education (preferred).
- Strong interpersonal skills—ability to communicate persuasively and compassionately, both orally and in writing.
- Highly organized; flexible.
- Exemplary oral & written skills.
- Ability to multi-task.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Familiar with Microsoft Office Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook.
- Detail oriented, creative, ability to learn new software applications.
- Willingness to work after hours or on weekends when needed.
- Strong work ethic, commitment to excellence.
