Youth Minister/Student Pastor

This is a paid part-time / bi-vocational position. 12-15 hours per week

$900.00-$1,100.00 per month

Education: Bachelor's (Preferred)

Experience: Youth Ministry experience 2 years (Required); Church Ministry, 3 years (Preferred)

Work Authorization: United States (Required)

SUMMARY OF POSITION

Open Bible is a Multi-cultured Baptist Church located in the South East portion of Colorado Springs, CO. We are seeking a Youth Minister to serve the Jr. High and High School aged children of our church and community. We desire a vibrant leader who relates well with students and demonstrates a lifestyle of integrity, commitment and dedication to Jesus and our church family.

The ideal candidate will be gifted in working with and developing teams that can lead our youth into a relationship with Jesus. They should be spiritually growing with a consistent walk with Christ, possess strong people skills and the ability to work as part of a cohesive ministry team. This candidate should be willing to commit to the OBBC family. They should also be an internally motivated self-starter who is detail-oriented and who can manage multiple projects well.

Primary responsibilities include the planning and direction of Sunday morning Sunday school time, as well as a Wednesday mid-week fellowship. Sundays form 9:00am-12:30pm Wednesdays from 6:00pm-8:00pm.

In addition, we desire at least one fun and relevant youth-related activity per month where youth can invite their friends, we can reach out into the community to attract additional youth, and connect them with OBBC. This Monthly outreach activity typically lasts 4 hours.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Spiritual Qualifications

Strong, clear Christian testimony and vibrant relationship with Jesus Christ.

Sound Biblical doctrine and understanding of Scripture.

Regular tither and cheerful giver of time and finances to Kingdom work.

Strong prayer life.

Servant leader’s heart.

Love for God's people and for the lost.

Preferred Professional Qualifications

Minimum of 2 years’ leading youth ministry at a church.

3 years experience planning, organizing and leading teams of volunteers.
