Pastor of Worship and Outreach

Overview: There is so much opportunity to advance the work that God has already started through the ministry of worship and outreach at Oak Haven Church. The ideal candidate will add their own ministry strength and gifting to a motivated staff team with a strong kingdom focus. The congregation cares deeply about the real needs of the surrounding community and has developed some creative partnerships that have the chance to get even stronger. This position will partner with the lead pastor who has a vision for how a healthy culture of evangelism will not only strengthen the ministries of our church, but also continue to reach those who need to hear about the love of Jesus.

Church Description: Oak Haven Church is a growing multigenerational church of 200+ people in the north metro of the Twin Cities. We are located in Ham Lake, MN, 25 miles north of Minneapolis in the center of Anoka County. Our county is home to over 340,000 people and is a growing area of the state. Our church reaches across all of Anoka County and even further North into Isanti County. Objective: The Pastor of Worship is to design, implement, and lead worship services that provide an environment of grace and truth where people can meet Jesus and grow in faith. The Pastor of Outreach is to oversee and develop systems and teams who help to connect the outside community to the church.

What we are searching for / Qualifications:

Education

The ideal candidate for this role will have an undergraduate degree. Studies in music, ministry, or a similar track is preferred. A seminary degree would be a plus but is not required.

Experience

2 years or more of experience working in the church world (volunteer or paid staff). Experience as a worship director/leader/pastor is preferred. Passion for reaching those who are far from Christ.

• Has strong vocal skills and proficiency in playing piano and/or guitar with the ability to lead while playing
• Proficient enough to lead any venue by themselves, but is primarily driven to equip/develop volunteer worship teams (musicians and vocalists) to lead worship
• Experienced in volunteer recruiting, equipping, training, and appreciation.
• Proficiency with technology and in all related church software and database systems such as Planning Center, Pro Presenter, etc.
• Experience with digital marketing, training for evangelism, and developing community partnerships.
• They are a creative and intuitive leader: the person in this role creates engaging worship environments and worship teams for people in all stages of their spiritual journey.
• Has a creative ability in the use of music and multimedia technology
• They are eager to engage in the community beyond the boundaries of the church.
• They are people-focused. They are a strong team player with cooperative, healthy, and motivating relationship with co-workers and volunteers.
• They have a strong work ethic. They are organized, goal-oriented, entrepreneurial, and a self-starter.

Position Description:

Worship

·        Create a warm and inviting environment for worship that facilitates a grace-filled experience of God. Use creativity to engage people with God in authentic ways through music, drama, and other artistic expression.

• Cast a vision for Christ-centered and God-glorifying worship within the congregation. Teach about worship regularly within the context of the worship experience.
• Lead and develop people involved in music, drama, and technical aspects of the church. Recruit and train musicians, worship leaders, artists, and technicians to implement excellent and inspiring worship services.

·        Partner with lead pastor to ensure that all worship services are effective and on target regarding content, style, structure, timing, and design.

• Oversee communication, scheduling, software, hardware, and all technical needs with the assistance of key volunteers.
• Assist in the development and oversight of the worship ministries budget and the proper use of ministry funds.
• Be available to the congregation and larger community for pastoral duties such as counseling, weddings, funerals, baptisms, seasonal worship services, hospital visitation, preaching, etc. 

Outreach

• Promote an atmosphere of invitation, welcome, and connection through the development of volunteer teams and regular opportunities for deeper connection for guests.
• Develop and implement a creative media strategy utilizing current technology to expand the reach of the church to those who are not yet connected to a local church.
• Recruit and train teams who will serve as the face of the church for guests. These may include (but are not limited to) greeters, ushers, lobby hosts, parking lot attendants, etc.
• Partner with the pastoral team to develop brand specific marketing plans for church–wide events and outreach-friendly message series.
• Partner with the Lead Pastor to develop and train a team of volunteer leaders within the congregation who are passionate about evangelism and outreach.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for volunteer leaders of community partnerships such as Hope 4 Youth, Family Promise, Elevate Hope House, etc.

This position is full-time and reports to the Lead Pastor.
