Congregational Care Coordinator (Part-Time)
Blessed Trinity United Methodist Cooperative Parish
Serving Parma, Parma Heights, and Middleburg Heights
Position Overview
Blessed Trinity is a vibrant, newly formed collaboration of three churches—Good Shepherd, Pleasant Hills, and Ridgewood. We are seeking a relational and organized Congregational Care Coordinator to strengthen our parish connections.
This is a coordination and leadership role. You will not be the sole caregiver; instead, you will build, train, and manage a team of lay volunteers to ensure our homebound, hospitalized, and isolated members receive consistent outreach and care.
Core Responsibilities
- Volunteer Leadership: Recruit, train, and equip a team of lay caregivers for visits, phone calls, and meal support.
- Systems Management: Maintain an up-to-date care list and oversee a reliable "care pathway" from initial referral to volunteer assignment and pastoral follow-up.
- Collaboration: Work closely with pastors to communicate urgent needs requiring clergy attention or sacramental ministry.
- Outreach Coordination: Oversee card-writing efforts, encouragement notes, and "beyond our walls" touchpoints.
Qualifications
- Soft Skills: Warm, dependable, and highly organized with a gift for encouraging others.
- Communication: Clear communicator with an unwavering commitment to confidentiality and discretion.
- Experience: Preferred (but not required) background in caregiving, chaplaincy, social work, nursing, or church administration.
- Requirements: Must have a valid driver’s license (or reliable local transportation) and pass a background check and Safe Sanctuary training.
Hours & Compensation
- Schedule: 6 to 10 hours per week (flexible based on seasonal needs).
- Pay: Starts at $18/hour, with room for increase based on relevant experience or certifications.
