Drexel Memorial Baptist Church is seeking God’s will for our next pastor. We are seeking a spirit-filled pastor to shepherd our congregation. The ideal candidate will be a Bible-based expository preacher committed to the Great Commission, nurturing spiritual growth, and leading our church and community with a servant's heart. We are a family oriented, loving congregation of approximately 70-75.  Our town offers many opportunities for community missions and outreach. We invite all to become part of our growing church.

Qualifications and Skills

• Must be a born-again, baptized believer, and be able to publicly proclaim his testimony
• Must believe the Bible to be the inspired, inerrant word of God, and as such, seeks to preach, minister, and abide by its principals and precepts
• Should display the spiritual gifts and maturity appropriate for this position, including teaching (Ephesians 4:11), shepherding (Ephesians 4:11), exhortation (Romans 12:8), faith (1Corinthians 12:9) administration (1Corinthians 12:28), leadership (Romans 12:8), and discernment (1Corinthians 12:10)
• Must meet the Biblical qualifications described in 1 Timothy 3:1-7, Titus 1:5-9, and 1 Peter 5:1-4
• Demonstrates a clear calling by God to pastoral ministry, led by the Holy Spirit
• Must be an ordained Baptist minister of the Gospel

Responsibilities

• Prepare & deliver weekly expository preaching and teaching for sunday morning and sunday night
• Provide a balanced ministry of preaching, teaching, evangelism, service, and pastoral care
• Abide by and uphold the Constitution & By-laws of Drexel Memorial Baptist Church
• Serve as ex-officio member of all Committees
• Perform the various ordinances including the Lord’s Supper, baptisms, and special services such as weddings, funerals, ordinations and baby dedication.
• Work closely with the deacons and leaders in the church to promote church growth
• Lead outreach and evangelism efforts within our community

Drexel Memorial Baptist Church was established in 1953 and has serve the Drexel community for years thru outreach ministry and many other ways. We are a family oriented, loving congregation of approximately 70-75. We have a growing youth group of about 25. Our town offers many opportunities for community missions and outreach.
