Who We Are

Mt Olive Church is located in the Irving Park neighborhood in Chicago, less than five blocks from the Irving Park blue line station. We are an Evangelical Free church composed of a faithful community of followers of Jesus, gathering each Sunday to worship, learn, and grow through expositional teaching from God’s Word. At Mt Olive, we are committed to worshipping God with praise and thanksgiving, building fellowship through relationships, serving our community with compassion and purpose, studying Scripture together in small groups, and sharing the gospel and living out the good news of Jesus. Our congregation is small (30-60 in attendance per week) but involved.

Role Summary

We are seeking a passionate Music and Media Director to lead our congregation in heartfelt, Christ-centered worship and keep our social media and website updated. This is a part-time position (up to 15 hours per week) with a flexible, hybrid schedule for non-Sunday tasks. 

What You’ll Do

• Lead & Develop: Oversee the worship team, audio, visual, and serve on the worship planning team.
• Worship Leadership: Lead worship vocally and instrumentally.
• Collaboration: Work with the worship planning team, including our lead pastor, to create service elements and choose weekly songs.
• Administration: Select a worship team, manage scheduling of volunteers, and communicate necessary purchases to the deacons and finance team.
• Media: Create and curate content for our social media accounts, and update the website on a weekly basis. 

Who We’re Looking For

• Spiritual Maturity: A biblical character consistent with our mission and vision.
• Skill Set: Strong vocal and instrumental leadership and experience with (or a willingness to learn) Worship Tools (including Charts, Planning, and Presenter.)
• Team Player: A desire to lead from a team approach alongside our elders and lay leaders.
• Preferred: Ability to lead worship with guitar and a desire to promote church events through a constant contact app. 

Compensation & Hours

• One of: one-bedroom apartment located in the church building, with rent and utilities free (note: we are located very close to the Irving Park Blue Line station). OR: $12,000 annually (payable every second Sunday) 
• Time Commitment: up to 15 hours per week (most weeks will be lower—Easter and the month of December may be higher)
