Worship Director/Pastor skills:
The worship Director/Pastor will have completed formal training in worship leading or have gained experience and on the job training in a church setting similar to Hope Community Church. He should have knowledge of leading worship, familiarity with Planning Center, have good communication skills, and be organized and dependable.
Accountability:
The worship leader will be responsible to the Lead Pastor or his delegate and prepare a written monthly report for the Hope CC Leadership Team.
Pastoral Responsibilities:
○ Provide spiritual care through counseling, visitation (hospital, homebound, crisis situations), and prayer
○ Officiate weddings, funerals, baptisms, and other pastoral duties as needed
○ Help cultivate a caring and connected church community
○ Preach and teach periodically as assigned
○ Support the development of discipleship pathways for spiritual growth
○ Ensure ministries are aligned with the church’s vision and values
○ Build relationships with church members and guests
○ Help integrate new attendees into the life of the church
○ Participate in staff meetings, planning sessions, and church events
Worship Responsibilities:
○ Lead Worship Service(s) by selecting songs that are Biblically sound and relevant
○ Give oversight to and recruit Worship team members as necessary for the coming Sunday.
○ Use Planning Center Online Services (PCO) to plan and schedule.
○ Personally and spiritually prepare for Sunday by having a worship plan, slides, music and practice completed.
○ Lead the congregation in worship each Sunday morning as well as mid-week, special, and seasonal services as assigned.
○ Provide equipment, software recommendations to the Worship team to enhance worship experience.
○ Lead weekly rehearsals to be prepared for Sunday services (1 Weeknight and Sunday 8:00 morning rehearsal)
○ Shepherd worship team and all those invested in the Worship Ministry in coaching, caring, and mentorship
○ Provide leadership to the Tech Team by giving timely resources to help them grow and deepen in their skills and gifting
○ Involve children and youth in Worship Service on occasion by collaborating with the Children’s Director
○ Provide service plans 2 weeks prior to the start of each month to give those participating time to personally practice.
○ Host auditions of potential new members, making cuts where necessary, to find the best fit for the volunteers on the
worship team, in the congregation, or in the choir.
○ Is available to counsel, arrange, provide music and attend special meetings, ministries, and other church related activities
(i.e., Funerals and Weddings) in cooperation with the appropriate individuals or groups.
○ Meet weekly with the Lead Pastor/Staff to discuss service themes and elements to be included in the worship services.
○ Create and monitor the church’s yearly budget for the worship ministry as well as the tech team
○ The Worship Director/Pastor coordinates the performance schedules of individuals in the functions of the church.
○ Prepares all materials for the choir, worship team, and instrumentalists.
○ Other duties as assigned
General:
40 hours a week
3 Weeks (15 days) of vacation time a year granted
Agreement with the mission and vision of Hope Church is expected.
Becoming a Ministry Partner and participating in the life of Hope Church would be expected.
