ASSOCIATE PASTOR OF CHILDREN & STUDENT MINISTRIES

Job Description

First Christian Church Tillamook, Oregon

Purpose:

As a member of the church staff, and under the direction of the Elders and Pastor, oversee ministries that serve Nursery through 12th grade students, helping them to become true followers of Christ.

Objective:

Develop, implement, and manage a disciple-making, integrated, Christ-centered, and family centric ministry for children and students

Tasks:

•    Oversee & staff all aspects of Sunday Morning Children’s ministries from nursery to 6th grade

•    Create, develop, staff and administer all aspects of Student ministries throughout the year

•    Develop and oversee curriculum materials and direction for teaching ministries for all grades

•    Assess and implement needed changes in existing children and student ministries

•    Oversee scheduling, recruitment, and training of volunteer staff

•    Manage and acquire equipment related to children’s and student ministries

•    Help organize mission trips and service projects

Qualifications:

•    Strong personal relationship with the Lord with an active devotional life

•    Genuine love for people

•    Well grounded in Scripture

•    Willing servant

•    Effective team member and team leader

•    Teachable and able to deal constructively with criticism

•    Understanding and sensitivity to the needs and pressures of modern family life

• Salary Range $ 60,000- $65,000 per year plus Health Insurance

Prerequisites & Experience:

•    Either: Bachelors (or equivalent) Degree in youth ministry or related field

•    Or: Many years of youth ministry experience
