Technical Director

Technical Director (Full-Time)

The Technical Director oversees all production environments at the church, creating excellent and distraction-free experiences that help people connect with God both in-person and online. This role leads the execution and development of Audio, Video, Lighting, and Broadcast systems for weekend services, special events, and digital ministry platforms.

The Technical Director will lead and develop volunteer production teams, implement technical systems and workflows, and collaborate closely with pastors, worship, and communications teams to support the vision of the church through technology and creative excellence.

This role also oversees all production aspects of the Off Central Podcast, including recording, editing, and publishing weekly content.

Primary Responsibilities

Weekend Services & Events

• Lead all technical production areas including Audio, Video, Lighting, and Online Broadcast
• Prepare and execute technical elements for weekend services and church events
• Ensure all production environments are excellent, organized, and service-ready
• Troubleshoot technical issues quickly and effectively
• Maintain and improve production systems and equipment
• Research, plan, and implement new technologies as needed

Leadership & Team Development

• Recruit, train, schedule, and lead production volunteers
• Foster a healthy, encouraging, and team-oriented culture
• Create systems and workflows that promote communication, organization, and excellence
• Utilize project management tools such as Basecamp to keep projects and creative requests moving efficiently
• Collaborate closely with Worship, Communications, and Ministry teams

Podcast Production

• Prepare and manage podcast recording environments
• Record audio and video for podcast episodes
• Edit audio/video content for weekly release
• Upload and manage podcast distribution platforms

Knowledge & Experience

Preferred candidates should have experience in the following areas:

• Adobe Creative Suite
• ProPresenter worship software
• Video editing and motion graphics platforms including:
• Adobe Premiere Pro
• After Effects
• Final Cut Pro
• Audio consoles, lighting systems, and live production environments
• Video cameras and photography equipment
• MIDI setup and integration
• Broadcast and livestream production workflows
• Project management and team collaboration systems
