This is an exciting opportunity for a Worship Pastor to join a healthy, growing church averaging 350 in weekly attendance and experiencing steady 4% growth over the past two years. With a $1.8 million renovation underway—featuring a complete overhaul of the worship center and AVL systems—you’ll step into a modern, forward-thinking environment alongside an established praise team, experienced worship band, and a 30+ member choir. Building on this strong foundation, you’ll help lead a vibrant worship culture that advances a clear and compelling vision: to know God, serve others, and reach our community. This full-time position serves as the primary leader of the church's worship ministry. This role combines a pastoral heart with musical excellence to serve the spiritual needs of the church family through dynamic, Christ-centered worship services.
Responsibilities
- Plan and lead weekly worship services with intentional focus on music selection that aligns with sermons, church vision, and church calendar
- Develop worship experiences that engage diverse age groups and musical preferences while maintaining biblical foundation
- Collaborate closely with senior pastoral staff in comprehensive worship service planning and special church events
- Oversee the planning and execution of seasonal celebrations, concerts, and special worship events
- Recruit, train, and mentor worship team members including vocalists, instrumentalists, and technical volunteers
- Provide spiritual and musical leadership to worship team members including vocalists, instrumentalists, and technical volunteers
- Conduct regular rehearsals and provide ongoing musical development for team members
- Foster a culture of excellence, spiritual growth, and unity within the worship ministry team
- Supervise sound and lighting staff and volunteers to ensure technical excellence in worship services
- Manage worship ministry budget and coordinate equipment needs and maintenance
- Maintain music library, licensing, and copyright compliance
- Coordinate scheduling for all worship ministry activities and personnel
- Provide pastoral care and spiritual guidance to worship ministry volunteers and their families
- Facilitate spiritual growth opportunities within the worship team through prayer, Bible study, and mentorship
- Other staff duties as required by leadership
Qualifications
- Personal relationship with Jesus Christ and a lifestyle congruent with the biblical requirements for leaders (1 Tim. 3; 2 Tim. 2; Titus 1:5-9)
- Strong biblical knowledge and theology of worship
- Commitment to the church's mission, vision, and statement of faith
- Understanding and agreement with Baptist Faith & Message
- A calling to pastoral ministry
- Bachelor's degree in Music, Worship, or related field preferred
- Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in worship ministry leadership
- Demonstrated musical proficiency in multiple instruments and/or vocal leadership
- Strong leadership and team management abilities
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency with worship planning software and music licensing
- Basic understanding and demonstrated leadership in sound, lighting, and worship technology
- Team-oriented self-starter with proven ability to manage multiple leaders simultaneously
- Creative vision balanced with practical implementation skills
- Flexibility to adapt worship while maintaining theological integrity
- Heart for mentoring and developing emerging worship leaders
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- This is a full-time position of approximately 40 hours/week to include Sunday mornings, Wednesday rehearsals and regular office hours
