Summary

The Campus Pastor provides pastoral and administrative leadership for a specific Mission City Church location by ensuring alignment with the church’s mission, vision, values, and strategies. This role leads the campus staff and ministries while actively contributing to and functioning as part of the broader Mission City Church team.

This role requires a mindset that prioritizes the mission of Mission City Church as a whole, not just the success of an individual campus. The Campus Pastor is responsible for executing both campus-specific and global church initiatives at their campus with excellence, maintaining strong collaboration with Global Leadership and staff across all campuses. 

Essential Responsibilities 

Campus Leadership & Execution

• Provide pastoral and administrative leadership for the campus, ensuring environments and ministries are prepared and executed with excellence
• Lead campus staff through regular meetings, direction, and coaching to ensure clarity, alignment, and execution
• Oversee campus ministry environments including weekend services, events, and weekly programming
• Ensure church-wide systems, processes, and standards are consistently implemented at the campus level 

Mission Alignment & Global Integration

• Champion the mission, vision, and values of Mission City Church, ensuring they are consistently reflected in all campus ministries
• Operate as part of the broader church staff team, contributing to shared goals and initiatives beyond the campus
• Partner with Global Leadership and other teams to support and execute church-wide initiatives at the campus level
• Ensure global strategies, events, and processes are carried out with excellence and consistency
• Maintain a “Mission City first” mindset, balancing campus leadership with church-wide priorities

Team Collaboration & Leadership Culture

• Actively build strong working relationships with staff across all campuses and global teams
• Collaborate with other Campus Pastors and leadership teams to maintain alignment and consistency across locations
• Contribute to a healthy, unified staff culture marked by trust and teamwork

Pastoral Care & Congregational Leadership

• Serve as the primary pastoral presence for the campus, building relationships with guests, volunteers, leaders, and members
• Provide care, guidance, and spiritual leadership within the campus community
• Help people take next steps in their faith through connection to LifeGroups, serving, and discipleship

Campus Health & Oversight

• Maintain awareness of campus health metrics including attendance, giving, guest retention, and leader development 
• Recruit, develop, and support LifeGroup leaders and key volunteers
• Ensure effective communication and follow-through across all campus ministries
• Manage campus-level budgets and resources responsibly

Mission City Church is a multi-site church located in San Antonio, Texas. Our mission is to “engage people where they are with the gospel of Jesus Christ and lead them into lives of transformation”. We are biblically driven and the basis for everything we do (both in ministry and operation) is God’s Word. We desire to connect people to Jesus through dynamic worship services, biblical teaching, and connection to community.
