Director of Children and Youth Ministries

Wesley United Methodist Church at the University of Illinois is seeking a passionate and committed individual to serve as our Director of Children and Youth Ministries.

This 15-hour per week, salaried position offers a unique opportunity to shape and lead meaningful programs for children and youth in a vibrant, inclusive, and progressive congregation.

What You’ll Do

The Director will:

• Lead Sunday morning Christian education for children and youth
• Plan and guide youth group meetings, service projects, and special events
• Collaborate with staff and volunteers to create a diverse, affirming, and safe space
• Support connections with new families
• Communicate effectively with parents and the broader church community
• Oversee nursery staff and coordinate volunteers
• Help shape seasonal events like Vacation Bible School and summer programming

Details

• Hours: 15 per week (flexible schedule, includes Sunday mornings)
• Compensation: Competitive part-time salary based on experience
• Reports to: Senior Pastor
