Senior Pastor – Wesleyan Independent Church (Berryville, Virginia)

Crums Church, a vibrant, Christ‑centered, Wesleyan‑rooted independent church in Berryville, VA is seeking a full‑time Senior Pastor who will provide spiritual leadership; shepherd our growing, multi-generational congregation (worshiping 150+ each week in two services); and guide us into our next season of ministry as we contemplate how best to handle our continued growth. We are a warm, missions- and community‑oriented church committed to scriptural holiness, discipleship, missions and outreach.

Key Responsibilities

• Preach and teach biblically grounded, Wesleyan‑aligned messages.
• Provide pastoral care, counseling, and visitation.
• Lead and equip ministry teams, staff, and volunteers.
• Oversee worship services, sacraments, and church administration. We have both traditional and contemporary services.
• Partner with the board to develop vision, strategy, and community engagement.
• Support discipleship pathways for all ages.

Qualifications

• A clear calling to pastoral ministry and a vibrant personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
• Alignment with Wesleyan theology and holiness tradition.
• Bachelor’s degree in ministry or related field required; seminary or graduate theological training preferred.
• Ordination or eligibility for ordination/licensing within a Wesleyan tradition (or equivalent experience).
• Strong preaching, communication, and pastoral‑care skills.
• Demonstrated leadership ability, emotional intelligence, and conflict‑resolution skills.
• Familiarity with church management tools and digital communication platforms. We use Planning Center.
• Minimum 3–5 years of pastoral or ministry leadership experience preferred.
