The Family/Kids Pastor is primarily responsible for championing and fulfilling the Enriching the Family stone.
Position Summary
The Family/Kids Pastor at FiveStone Community Church provides spiritual leadership, vision, and oversight for ministries that serve children and families. This role exists to equip parents and caregivers to develop life-long followers of Jesus by uniting the influence of church and home. The Family/Kids Pastor will lead ministry environments, volunteer teams, and family discipleship strategies that help children know, love, and follow Jesus while empowering parents as the primary spiritual leaders in their homes.
Key Responsibilities
Family Discipleship & Vision
• Champion the Enriching the Family stone by creating a clear, biblical, and practical strategy for family discipleship.
• Equip and encourage parents to lead their children spiritually through resources, training, and relational support.
• Develop pathways that help families grow together in faith from birth through elementary years (and in collaboration with student ministry if applicable).
• Partner with other ministry leaders to ensure alignment with FiveStone’s mission and vision.
Kids Ministry Leadership
• Provide leadership and oversight for all children’s ministry environments (birth through elementary).
• Ensure age-appropriate, biblically sound, and engaging teaching that leads children toward faith in Jesus.
• Create safe, welcoming, and fun environments where children and families feel known and valued.
• Oversee curriculum selection, scheduling, and ministry structure.
Volunteer Recruitment & Development
• Recruit, train, and equip volunteers to serve effectively and joyfully in kids and family ministries.
• Develop leaders by providing ongoing coaching, encouragement, and spiritual care.
• Foster a team culture that reflects FiveStone’s values and discipleship mission.
Family Engagement & Communication
• Build strong relationships with families inside and outside the church.
• Communicate clearly and consistently with parents regarding ministry goals, events, and discipleship tools.
• Plan and lead family-focused events, classes, or gatherings that strengthen faith at home and connection within the church.
Administration & Collaboration
• Manage ministry budgets, schedules, and policies in collaboration with church leadership.
• Ensure compliance with safety policies and best practices for children’s ministry.
• Work closely with the Lead Pastor and staff team to support church-wide initiatives and services.

• A heart for discipleship and a passion for partnering with parents.
• Demonstrates humility, integrity, and a servant-leader mindset.
• Affirms and supports the mission, vision, and beliefs of FiveStone Community Church.
Education & Experience
• Bachelor’s degree in ministry, biblical studies, education, or a related field (preferred).
• Previous experience leading children’s and/or family ministry in a church context.
• Proven ability to recruit and lead volunteers and build effective ministry systems.
Skills & Competencies
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to teach and communicate biblical truths to children and adults.
• Relational, approachable, and able to connect with families from diverse backgrounds.
• Team-oriented and adaptable in a growing church environment.

• Reports to: Lead Pastor
• Status: Full-Time, Salaried
