Faimly & Children Ministry Director

Position Summary

Dundee Presbyterian Church is looking for a Family & Children's Ministry Director who wants to see families grow in faith together, from a child's first steps into church through high school graduation.

Guided by DPC's mission, vision, and values, you'll be the primary staff leader for our ministry to children age 3 through fifth grade and their families. This is both a hands-on role and a strategic one. You'll build and lead a cohesive Children's Ministry powered by adult volunteers, and you'll partner with parents and caregivers, because we only get an hour or two a week with kids and the rest of their formation happens at home. Your aim is to raise up ever-increasing numbers of faithful followers of Christ, both inside our church and out in the community. Working alongside the Youth Ministry Director, you'll also help create clear transitions from early childhood through high school graduation.

Family Ministry is an emerging ministry at DPC. Reporting to the Associate Pastor, you'll work within the larger pastoral vision and help turn it into a healthy, unified, and sustainable ministry across all ages. We're looking for a collaborative builder: someone who honors what is already fruitful, strengthens existing teams, and develops the philosophy, systems, relationships, and rhythms that long-term growth needs.

What You'll Do

Children's Ministry

• Share God's Word and the Christian faith with children, helping them grow as followers of Jesus.
• Plan and lead ministry for children age 3 through fifth grade: events, worship, small groups, and one-on-one outreach.
• Recruit, train, equip, and lead the volunteers who love children well and make our programs possible.
• Nurture a healthy culture where children feel known, welcomed, and safe.

Parent and Family Discipleship

• Come alongside parents and caregivers, equipping them to lead their children's faith formation at home.
• Lead the team that plans and carries out Family Ministry events and parent-focused programming.
• Grow DPC's ministry with children and families, in our congregation and in the surrounding community, and empower them to bear witness to the Christian faith.

Family Ministry Leadership

• Work with the Associate Pastor, who guides the larger vision, to establish Family Ministry as a unified ministry area at DPC.
• Partner with the Youth Ministry Director on Family and Youth Ministry events, including opportunities for students to serve at children's events, so the two ministries work as one.
• Work with pastors, staff, and ministry leaders to bridge and unify DPC's ministries from preschool through high school.
• Develop and steward the Children's and Family Ministry budget.
• Be part of the DPC staff team: attend staff meetings, take part in worship, and contribute to the broader life of the church.
• Keep growing in your own faith through prayer and ongoing learning.
• Take on other duties consistent with the role, as assigned by the Associate Pastor or Session.

• Strong leadership, creative teaching approaches, and excellent organizational, planning, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to handle multiple events and projects at once.
• Exceptional interpersonal skills, with the ability to foster teamwork in a positive atmosphere among staff and volunteers.
• Clear administrative and digital communication skills, and computer proficiency.

Education and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
• Professional experience in church ministry to children and families.

Pay: $50,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
