First Baptist Church of Thornton, Arkansas is praying for God to send us a pastor to under-shepherd and lead our church family. We are a small rural congregation located in beautiful southern Arkansas, approximately 75 miles south of Little Rock. We need a caring and humble leader with a shepherd's heart. We have a history of over 129 years of ministry in our community.
The pastor will encourage us with relevant messages that are Biblical and practical to everyday life. We desire someone who will motivate and train us to reach our community for Christ.
Thornton is located in northern Calhoun County. According to the most recent 2010 Census, the current population is 407. U.S. Route 79 passes through the city, leading northeast 6 miles to Fordyce and southwest 26 miles to Camden. U.S. Route 167 cuts across the southeast corner of the city limits, leading north to US 79 and Fordyce and south 16 miles to Hampton, the Calhoun County seat.
