Children's Pastor

Grace Community is a growing A/G church in the suburbs, north of DFW. We are focusing on young families with children and are seeking an energetic, fun-loving person with God's calling to head up this ministry.

The Kids Pastor leads and oversees kids, birth through 5th grade. This role is responsible for developing and implementing curriculum for the spiritual formation of kids, and equipping parents to lead their kids spiritually. With energetic leadership abilities, the Kids Pastor executes current ministry programs/events and ensures the ministry stays creative and relevant. The Kids Pastor is the main voice in the Sunday Kids services and oversees all Kids ministry staff and volunteers.

 Primary Responsibilities and Tasks of the Kids Pastor 

• Oversee all ministry activities for kids (ages birth–5th grade), including Sunday mornings and special events.
• Lead chapel for Mother’s Day Out program on Thursday mornings.
• Teach and preach at Kids worship services.
• Choose and lead the preparation of age-appropriate curriculum for each age level.
• Recruit, train, and develop teams of Kids ministry leaders and volunteers.
• Plan, and oversee special events such as VBS, community outreaches, family events, etc.
• Manage smooth check-in procedures on Sundays and track weekly Kids ministry attendance.
• Ensure all safety and accountability practices are being followed by paid workers and volunteers including being current on background checks and Ministry Safe training.
• Attend weekly, quarterly, and annual pastoral and church staff meetings as part of the leadership team. 

Team 

• This position reports to the Executive Pastor and relates to the leadership team.
• The Mother’s Day Out Director and Nursery Coordinator report to the Kids Pastor.
• This position currently oversees over approx. 30 volunteers.

Currently, we have a staff of 10 full time and several part time positions. Our current weekend attendance is around 500 and growing. We're multi-cultural and multi-generational.
