Purpose and Scope

Under the Direction of the Pastor, provide overall co-ordination of parish music program.

We are seeking a passionate and talented Gospel Piano/Keyboard Player to join our vibrant

praise & worship team. This energetic role is vital in creating an inspiring and uplifting musical

atmosphere that enhances spiritual experiences during services and special events. The ideal

candidate will bring enthusiasm, technical skill, and a deep love for Jesus Christ to help elevate

our congregation’s worship experience. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to use

Essential Job Functions

• Collaborate closely with the pastor, choir directors, and other musicians to develop engaging

musical arrangements that resonate spiritually.

• Provide accompaniment for congregational singing, ensuring harmony and rhythm support

that energizes the worship experience.

• Adapt to different musical styles within the gospel genre, including traditional, contemporary,

and soulful expressions.

• Maintain and organize all keyboard instruments, ensuring they are well-tuned, functional, and

ready for each service or event.

• Participate in rehearsals to refine performances, learn new arrangements, and foster team

cohesion.

• Assist in selecting appropriate musical pieces that align with the theme of each service or

event.

• Support sound checks and technical setups to ensure optimal audio quality during

performances.

• Performs any job-related tasks necessary for the smooth flow of operations within the parish.

• Contributes to team effort for a professional environment.

• Maintains and demonstrates a cooperative attitude and effective working relationship with all

departments, church groups, employees, volunteers, and parishioners.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required

• Proven experience as a gospel pianist or keyboard player, with a strong portfolio of live

performances.

• Proficiency in playing piano or electronic keyboards with a solid understanding of gospel music

styles and improvisation techniques.

• Ability to read sheet music as well as improvise creatively within the gospel genre.

• Strong sense of rhythm, harmony, and musical timing are essential for leading congregational

singing.

• Excellent communication skills for collaborating with team members and church leadership.

• Flexibility to adapt performance style based on the specific needs of each service or event.

• Experience with Afro Gospel is a plus but not required.

• Commitment to punctuality, professionalism, and maintaining a positive attitude during

rehearsals and performances.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in music or other related field, a minimum of 6 years liturgy experience in

the Roman Catholic tradition, and proficiency in organ, piano, accompaniment and vocal/ choral

conducting.
