Director of Children's Ministries

First United Methodist Church is looking for a full-time Director of Children's Ministries. The candidate should be a spiritual leader for children from birth through sixth-grade. This person must love children and demonstrate a strong personal commitment to Jesus Christ. This person must be someone who can nurture an environment where children can learn about God in a loving, supportive, and fun setting. The Director will partner with parents to raise children who are grounded in God's love and grace to begin their journey in a manner worthy of God. Qualified candidates should have experience in planning, coordinating, and leading children in their faith development. This position will work alongside other staff members, in a team environment, to fulfill our call to make disciples across the world.

Summary of Responsibilities:

Seeking a Christ-centered, joy-filled environment for children to come to know and love Jesus.

Maintaining implementing Christian educational standards and goals.

Managing part-time nursery staff.

Maintaining the Safe Sanctuaries policy and training of volunteers and employees.

Recruiting, equipping and providing support to the children’s ministry volunteers and children' ministry council for programming on Wed. evenings, Sun. morning, as well as special events such as Vacation Bible School.

Leading and teaching children’s classes, to include Sunday School, Sunday morning Children's Church, Power Pak Wednesday After School ministry, etc.

Working with Clark Center Day Program Director (preschool) as needed.

Planning and implementation of ministry events for children and families.

Ordering and organizing children’s curriculum.

Track and maintain data required for children’s ministry classes such as attendance records, roll sheets, safe sanctuary training, background checks etc.

Weekly email monthly newsletter communication with parents and volunteers relating reminders and encouragement about FUMC Kidz at First ministries.

Maintain social media presence for FUMC Kidz at First ministries.

Maintain classroom and resource room supplies, decoration, organization.

Personal Qualifications:

A personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

Servant heart for ministry with children.

Excited and honored to be serving the Lord!

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Must be organized and flexible.

Education:

· Associate (Preferred)

Experience:

· Ministry: 1 year (Preferred)
