Sojourn Church

Position: Worship Leader

Job Summary: The Worship Leader will develop, coordinate, and lead the music ministry for Sojourn Church under the oversight of the Pastor. This is a half-time position, with an expected average of 20 hours per week. The hours can increase as the church grows and needs increase. Salary will be in the 30 - 35K range.

Songs: Hymns, Modern/Contemporary, Modern Hymns, Re-written hymns. We have a variety of songs that we sing and are willing to be shaped by new influences from the leader.

Band: Rotating instruments of guitar (Acoustic), keys, strings, drums. We desire to have a full band experience.

Essential Functions:

· Lead worship weekly (instrumental vocal) at Sunday Services and special services throughout the year.

· Select and plan music for Sunday and special services in consultation with Pastor.

· Recruit, direct, and develop musicians from within the congregation to play in services.

· Find and integrate new music (older hymns, modern hymns, psalms) to introduce that fit with Sojourn philosophy of worship.

· Communicate with the Pastor on worship matters.

Qualifications:

· Active and growing personal commitment to Christ and his church.

· Willing to be a member at Sojourn Church.

· Attested musical skills and competence.
