Position: Audio/Video Technician and Production Coordinator

Location: Outlook Christian Church, Reno, NV

Type: Part-time, 20-30 hours per week


Responsibilities

As the Audio/Video Coordinator, you will be responsible for coordinating the volunteer production team to ensure flawless execution of our Sunday Worship Gathering. Your role will encompass a range of tasks, including:


Pre-operations Setup

  • Collaborate with the worship team, teaching team, and announcements team to understand their audio and visual requirements, including recording and editing video announcements for seamless integration into the worship service.
  • Plan and set up audio, video, and lighting equipment to meet the needs of each team and the overall service.
  • Conduct thorough tests and rehearsals to ensure all technical aspects are working optimally.


Live Service Coordination

  • Oversee all aspects of sound production during the live service, including microphone setup, mixing, and quality control.
  • Coordinate in-house visual presentation, ensuring timely display of lyrics, graphics, and multimedia content.
  • Manage stage lighting, creating an immersive and impactful atmosphere for worship.


Livestream Management

  • Oversee the technical setup and operation of livestream equipment to ensure a seamless online worship experience.
  • Monitor livestream quality during the service and troubleshoot any issues that may arise.


Post-Service Video Production and Publication

  • Record and edit the video footage of the service, ensuring high-quality and engaging content.
  • Produce polished videos and optimize them for online publication.
  • Publish the recorded service on our various platforms, such as our website and social media channels.


Requirements

  • Commitment to following Christ and leading with Christ-like character, reflecting and modeling spiritual maturity in all aspects of the role.
  • Proven experience as an Audio/Video Technician in a live production environment, preferably in a worship setting.
  • Proficiency in operating audio mixing consoles, video cameras, lighting equipment, and presentation software.
  • Strong knowledge of audio signal flow, video production, and livestreaming technologies.
  • Ability to lead and coordinate a diverse production team effectively.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think on your feet during live events.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality results.
  • Flexibility to work on Sundays and occasional evenings for special events.


Working Conditions

  • The Audio/Video Technician will primarily work in a dynamic and fast-paced worship environment, both indoors and occasionally outdoors, where the atmosphere may be emotionally charged and spiritually uplifting.
  • The position requires frequent standing, walking, and moving around to manage equipment setup and ensure smooth operations during live services.
  • The role involves flexible working hours, with a primary focus on Sunday mornings for the Worship Gathering, a weekly staff meeting, and evenings for occasional special events or weekly rehearsals.
  • The technician will work closely with a diverse production team, worship team members, teaching staff, and announcements team, requiring excellent communication and coordination skills.
  • The technician must be comfortable working under pressure during live events, troubleshooting technical issues promptly, and maintaining composure to deliver a high-quality worship experience.
  • The role may involve occasional travel for training, conferences, or off-site events related to audio/video production and technology.
