Mt. Zion Church is seeking a passionate, visionary Kids Ministry Director to lead and grow a thriving ministry for children from Nursery through 5th Grade.

This is an opportunity to help shape the faith of the next generation by creating fun, safe, engaging, and spiritually meaningful environments where kids can encounter Jesus and families can feel supported. We are looking for a leader with a pastor’s heart, strong organizational instincts, and a passion for building teams, developing volunteers, and creating excellent ministry experiences.

What You’ll Do

• Lead the vision, strategy, and overall direction of Kids Ministry in alignment with Mt. Zion’s mission and values.
• Oversee weekly Sunday and midweek programming for Nursery–5th Grade.
• Recruit, train, lead, and encourage volunteers and ministry staff.
• Create engaging, age-appropriate environments that are biblically grounded, fun, and welcoming.
• Partner with parents as they disciple their children and build strong relationships with families.
• Lead major events such as Kids Camp, Easter, Christmas, and family-focused ministry opportunities.
• Ensure strong safety, check-in, communication, and ministry systems are in place.
• Collaborate with church staff and ministries to support the broader mission of the church.

Qualifications

• 5–7 years of leadership experience in children’s ministry or a related field.
• Bachelor’s degree in Children’s Ministry, Christian Education, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
• Experience building volunteer teams and leading ministry programs.
• Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
• Understanding of child safety, ministry operations, and age-appropriate discipleship.

Schedule & Expectations

This is a full-time role requiring 40 hours per week across 5 workdays, including:

• Sundays
• one midweek evening
• office hours Tuesday–Thursday
• major seasonal and kids ministry events throughout the year
