The story begins in 2004 when God began to speak to Scott and tell him that one day he would pastor a church, not just any church, but one that he would plant. By the spring of 2008, Scott believed the Lord was telling him that he would plant and pastor a church in Macomb, MI, called Lakepointe Church. Scott and his wife Karen shared the vision God had given them to their church in Pensacola, FL, where Scott had been on pastoral staff since 1999.
In the summer of 2009, the Blanchards and two other families from Florida moved from sunny Florida to the state of Michigan; soon after, Lakepointe Church began to hold monthly services with 84 in attendance! On March 21, 2010, Lakepointe Church officially launched its first “public” service with 300 in attendance.
In October 2019, after ten years of setting up and tearing down at Lutheran High School North, Lakepointe Church moved to a permanent location in Shelby Township, where the church currently holds two Sunday services and various small groups.
The story of Lakepointe Church continues to be written as we are “Helping People Take Their Next Step With God.” We are passionate about reaching people who are far from God to know Him and His awesome design and plan for their lives.
