Job Description General DescriptionThe Children’s Pastor/Director is responsible for all aspects of ensuring the spiritual growth and development of children ages birth through 5th grade. This includes curriculum selection, volunteer recruitment and development, classroom management, and operational management necessary to ensure successful and constantly improving children’s services groups, activities and special events. Primary responsibilities:Develop a clearly defined vision and strategy for discipleship within the Kid’s Ministry (k-4th) that works in conjunction with the overall vision and ministry of Mission Hill Church.Build and develop a Kid’s Ministry Leadership Team, which consists of committed and gifted volunteers.Recruit, train, and lead volunteers.Develop and implement a strategy for whole-family discipleship; working with families to equip and empower parents/families to disciple their children.Oversee the Kid’s Ministry budget and help develop the budgetary needs for upcoming years.Provide oversight and planning for all aspects of Children’s Ministry, including, but not limited to: Sunday morning Kid’s WorshipWednesday night programmingCommunity GroupsSpecialized ClassesOutreach eventsFamily events/programmingSummer CampCurriculum selection/development for all programmingVacation Bible SchoolSecondary responsibilities:Work as a team player with the rest of the ministerial and support staff. This includes making every effort to attend all staff functions (i.e. – staff meetings, retreats, planning sessions, etc.).Participate and provide support and leadership (when necessary) in church-wide events, even if they do not directly affect the Children’s Ministry.
