Worship Leader / Minister to Young Families

Overview

Trinity Fellowship is a mature, elder-led, urban congregation nestled in a bustling suburb near Houston, Texas. The church has traditionally served middle- to upper-middle-class attendees with large families. Many of these families homeschooled their children and had strong connections to folks in the space-aeronautical (NASA), petrochemical, and medical industries.

Trinity hired a new senior pastor in August 2023 to help lead the church into its next phase of ministry, and the church has recently completed a mission and vision strategy initiative. Now, by God's grace, we are ready to add members to our leadership team to help accomplish its mission of reaching and equipping people to think, live, and be like Jesus. 

Part of Trinity’s strategy leverages the extensive renovation planned for its meeting space to help attendees connect with God and one another. Plans include a new platform, audio, lighting, landscaping, and common areas. It also seeks to maximize its outreach and service opportunities by investing in and partnering alongside the families attending a new on-site Christian homeschool academy.

We are asking God to bring us together with like-minded candidates to help us fill key roles needed for the realization of this vision.

Ministry Description

In coordination with the Senior Pastor, Music Team, Production Team, and other ministries in the church, the Worship Leader and Minister to Families is responsible for creating an environment of engaging worship at Trinity Fellowship that glorifies God and edifies attendees, while also connecting with and encouraging young families toward spiritual maturity and active participation in the life of the church.

Anticipated Time Commitments

1. Doing ministry/preparing for ministry: 45 hrs a week
2. Participating in meetings/training: 2 hours per week / 2 hours per month

Responsibilities: Worship Leadership

1. Maintain a spiritually growing relationship with Jesus Christ and a regular devotional life.
2. Plan and coordinate weekly music selections for all scheduled congregational and seasonal worship events.
3. Coordinate and direct weekly worship practices and rehearsals.
4. Upload and format music lyrics and arrangements into Proclaim presentation software.
5. Identify, recruit, and train vocalists, musicians, and other participants for the Worship ministry.
6. Encourage, empower, and pray for worship team members.
7. Plan and coordinate the yearly budget with the Senior Pastor and General Board.

Responsibilities: Minister to Young Families

1. Build relationships with young families in the community/church through intentional connection and presence.
2. Provide spiritual encouragement and informal pastoral care to young couples and parents.
3. Develop and/or support discipleship environments (small groups, classes, or gatherings) for young families.
4. Partner with existing children’s and student ministries to help integrate and encourage young families.
5. Assist young families in connecting to the broader church body and serving opportunities.
6. Identify needs among young families and communicate them to church leadership.
7. Help cultivate a church culture that values and supports young families.
