Associate Pastor of Young Families

Objectives:

We are seeking a “follower of Jesus” whose passion is in working for the glory of God with Young Families and children of all ages; specially leading young children and youth to follow Jesus Christ. To be a working member of our team seeking “to introduce people to God, equip them to be like Jesus Christ and worship in spirit and truth” in accordance with our Mission Statement.

General Responsibilities:

• Responsible for overseeing, planning, executing the Sunday School instruction by our volunteer staff for ages: nursery through high school utilizing prepared and approved curriculums for those age groups.

• Teaching classes as necessary and facilitating young family small groups.

• Coordinate and lead Children’s Church on Sundays during the Worship Service.

• Willing and able to preach to the congregation on occasion.

• Reaching out in the local area to develop a rapport with the area schools and develop ministries to bring more young families and children to our church.

• Collaborate with the Senior Pastor and teams to ensure ministry success.

• Be electronically proficient to manage FSBC website and Facebook page, etc.

• Ability to promote activities.

Other Information:

• Salary: $60,000 (negotiable)

• Housing Allowance is included in the salary

• Bachelor’s Degree or above preferred

• Potential annual scholarship for continued education at an SBC school

• Position will remain open until the position is filled

What We Believe...

God - there is one God, eternally existing in three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. God is the creator of everything in the universe.

Jesus - in the deity of Jesus Christ, his virgin birth, sinless life, miracles, death on the cross for our redemption, bodily resurrection and ascension to heaven, His present ministry of intercession for believers, and His return to earth in power and glory.

The Holy Spirit - in the person and deity of the Holy Spirit. He performs the miracle of new birth in unbelievers, indwells and bestows gifts to every believer, and empowers people to live godly lives.

The Bible - the Bible is God's written revelation to man, and it is verbally inspired, authoritative, and without error.

Man - God created man and woman. Man and woman were alienated from God due to the free choice to sin against God thus bringing sin into the human race. Through God's grace through faith in Christ alone for salvation (made possible by his death and resurrection) one is reconciled with God. All people were created to exist eternally and will spend it either in the presence of God in Heaven or without His presence in Hell.

Salvation - Salvation is irrevocable. It is given and maintained by the grace of God and not through the works of, or lack thereof, the believer.

Baptism and Lord's Supper -Christian baptism is the immersion of a believer in water in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. It is an act of obedience symbolizing the believer’s faith in a crucified, buried, and risen Saviour, the believer’s death to sin, the burial of the old life, and the resurrection to walk in the newness of life in Christ Jesus. The Lord’s Supper is a symbolic act of obedience whereby believers memorialize the death of Christ and anticipate His second coming. You do not have to be a member of FSBC Wellton to partake in the Lord's Supper, but you are asked to only partake if you align with the Christian belief of what the Lord's Supper means and what it means to be a true believer in Christ.
