Summary:
The Youth Ministry Leader will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and leading ministry activities for middle and high school students (grades 6–12). This role is focused on spiritual growth, discipleship, and building relationships with students while creating a welcoming, Christ-centered environment.
The Youth Ministry Leader reports to the Senior Pastor and will partner with parents, volunteers, and church leadership to help students grow in their faith and actively participate in church life. Candidate must be able to attend Sunday worship services and Wednesday Bible studies/services.
Responsibilities:
- Spiritual Leadership: Teach and model a Christ-centered life for students, helping them deepen their faith through worship services, Bible studies, youth Journey Group (small group), ministry, special events, and prayer.
- Program Development: Plan and lead youth journey group (2nd and 4th Fridays of the month), occasional retreats, and bi-monthly outreach events. Ensure that all curriculum used is approved by OBBC leadership.
- Relationship Building: Build meaningful connections with students, parents, and volunteers, creating a safe and supportive environment.
- Volunteer Coordination: Recruit, train, and schedule volunteers to serve in youth ministry programs. Ensuring that every youth event is appropriately staffed. Encourage every volunteer to be active participants in the OBBC discipleship process.
- Communication: Maintain regular communication with parents, church staff, and students through text messages, phone calls, flyers, social media, and email updates.
- Integration with Church Life: Encourage youth participation in worship services, church events, and service opportunities.
- Administration: Manage youth ministry budget, schedule events, and ensure safety and compliance with church policies.
Qualifications:
- A personal, growing relationship with Jesus Christ and a commitment to OBBC’s mission, vision, and discipleship process.
- 2 years of experience in youth ministry or working with adolescents in a church setting.
- 3 years of experience serving in church ministry.
- Strong communication and leadership skills with the ability to connect with both students and adults.
- 3 years of event planning and volunteer management experience.
- Ability to work independently.
- Basic administrative and technology skills (e.g., social media, email, and simple scheduling tools).
- A heart for evangelism, discipleship, and spiritual formation in the rising generation.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $12,000.00 - $15,000.00 per year
Expected hours: 15 – 18 per week
