Worship/Youth Pastor

Avon Parkside Church of the Nazarene is currently seeking a Jesus focused, leader of leaders who is collaborative, team-based individual that will empower others to lead our youth and worship ministries.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree preferred.
• Proficiency in music, specifically in the areas of: charting, vocals and band development.
• Knowledgeable and experience with different forms of media (video, website, etc.), audio & visual tech.
• Has a track record of mobilizing, empowering, and leading teams.    
• Manages household well. Well-rounded, healthy lifestyle, understanding of the culture and church, with a heart for lost people and the processes of people developing into fully devoted disciples of Jesus Christ.
• Emotional Intelligence, a sense of humor, lover of people, and lifelong learner are all qualities that will fit well with leadership.
• A commitment to long-term ministry.
• Previous experience as a worship/youth pastor is required.

Responsibilities related to YOUTH:

Be directly involved in Jr. & Sr. High by:

• Recruit, equip, and lead adult and student leaders for the purpose of making disciples.
• Prepare and deliver doctrinally-sound, high-impact messages weekly.
• Plan and facilitate compelling weekly ministry services, camps, and special events.
• Follow-up with new students and help them connect to the ministry.
• Communicate the overall vision, goals, and strategy of the student and young adult ministries to the students, parents and church.
• Ensure quality care for students and leaders.
• Create ministry objectives and goals
• Be available as a pastor during weekend services, and other pastoral duties as assigned by supervisor.

Responsibilities related to WORSHIP:

Be directly involved in the music ministry by:

·     Leading congregation in singing in conjunction with the praise team.

·     Weekly selection of worship music in conjunction with sermon information provided by the lead pastor.

·     Create weekly slides for worship service and upload them for our services on Sunday morning.

·     Coordination of rotation of the praise team members, individuals in the sound booth, and additional assistance needed with the worship service.

·     Oversee weekly rehearsals of the praise team and coordinate worship service elements for Sunday morning services.
