Job Description

We are seeking an Associate Pastor who, over time and following a successful period of ministry, will transition into the role of Senior Pastor. Our current Senior Pastor is planning for retirement in the future, and we desire a thoughtful and intentional succession process.

The ideal candidate will be committed to building strong relationships within our church family, fostering trust and meaningful connections with the congregation. This season of service will provide an opportunity for both the candidate and the congregation to become well acquainted, allowing for a smooth and prayerful transition should the individual ultimately be called to serve as our next Senior Pastor.

SALARY OVERVIEW:

This is a starting position of a part time job at 3k a month with the goal to be full time Senior pastor where the pay and hours will increase. 

BRIEF OVERVIEW OF THE ASSOCIATE PASTOR'S POSSIBLE MINISTRY AREAS: (This job description will be built, however, around the individual person.)

  • Community Outreach Oversight
  • Set up small groups and/or teach a Bible study
  • Leading and mentoring the men of the church
  • Pulpit teaching/preaching time
  • Church growth management oversight

3. Do you agree with NHC's thoughts on the following: 

  • Expository teaching as the primary and topical teaching as secondary.
  • One who is doctrinally in alignment with The Assembly of God, but worship services reflects Calvary Chapel. 
  • Eschatology: We believe in a literal, futuristic, premillennial, dispensational view. 
  • Theological tradition based in Arminianism.

4. Concerning the Holy Spirit:

  • All Born Again believers are filled at conversion.
  • All the gifts of the Spirit are available.
  • The priority of our worship services is the teaching of God's Word.
  • Worship services are to be orderly in accordance with the scriptures.

5. Concerning Israel and the Church:

  • The Church has not nor will it ever replace Israel.
  • God has a plan for the Church and for Israel.
  • We the Church are called to support Israel through proper instruction of the Word of God.

6. Concerning the Word of Faith Movement:

  • We do not support the wealth/health teaching.
  • We do, however, believe in Divine healing and God's provision with the understanding of God's Sovereignty.

ABOUT OUR CHURCH:

Church Doctrine: Comparable to The Assemblies of God, but the Church style/format is closest to Calvary Chapel. We are predominantly a teaching church that is Word-Centered.

Church Debt: The church is fully out of debt with a healthy savings account for our size.

Church Building: Very maintained.

Church Size: Our general attendance for a monthly average is of 140-145. We average 25 to 30 children monthly.



About the New Horizons Church

We are seeking an Associate Pastor initially. The aspiration is for this individual to eventually assume the role of Senior Pastor, contingent upon a successful period of service. Our current Pastor is planning to retire at some point. We seek a candidate who will cultivate relationships with our congregation, allowing both the individuals and the prospective Senior Pastor to build meaningful connections.
