Monument Point Fellowship (MPF) is seeking a Pastor of Preaching and Equipping. MPF is a conservative Southern Baptist church that was established in 1986, and after nearly 40 years of faithful ministry, our founding Senior Pastor is prayerfully looking toward retirement. We are seeking a man who can come alongside him during this season of transition, assume significant preaching and leadership responsibilities, and intentionally prepare to become the church’s next Senior Pastor.
Primary Responsibilities
1. Preaching and Teaching
The Pastor of Preaching and Equipping will assume a significant portion of the church’s preaching and teaching ministry. Responsibilities will include:
2. Equipping the Church
A primary emphasis of this position will be equipping the saints for ministry. The Pastor of Preaching and Equipping will seek to develop a culture in which believers are growing in spiritual maturity and are equipped to serve Christ and one another. This may include:
3. Leadership and Vision
The candidate will work closely with the Senior Pastor and Elders in providing spiritual leadership for the congregation. He will:
While Monument Point Fellowship deeply values its history and the ministry of its founding pastor, we recognize that every church eventually enters a new season. Our desire is to find a pastor who can honor what God has done while helping lead the church into what God has next. The successful candidate will therefore possess both a respect for the church’s history and a willingness to prayerfully consider new opportunities for ministry.
Transitional Opportunity
This position will provide an intentional opportunity for the candidate and the church to get to know one another and discern God’s direction for the future.
The current Senior Pastor will remain actively involved during the transition and will work alongside the new pastor. The expectation is that the Pastor of Preaching and Equipping will gradually assume greater preaching, leadership, and ministry responsibilities. If the Lord confirms that this is the right man and the right fit for Monument Point Fellowship, the long-term hope is that he would ultimately succeed the current Senior Pastor as Senior Pastor.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate should:

We believe this pastoral transition represents not simply the ending of one chapter, but an opportunity for the church to build upon its biblical foundation and faithfully pursue God’s purposes for the years ahead.

Monument Point Fellowship is a “Church Proclaiming Jesus Christ!” whose mission is to Love God, Serve Others, and Reach the World. We are a conservative Southern Baptist church with an average attendance of about 130-150 on a typical Sunday morning. We are deeply committed to the authority, sufficiency, and trustworthiness of God’s Word and seek to faithfully proclaim and apply Scripture in every area of church life. We affirm the “Baptist Faith and Message” (2000) and value our partnership with like-minded churches through the Cooperative Program of the SBC.
Theologically, MPF is firmly committed to the sovereignty of God over all things, the historic doctrines of grace, and the centrality of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Our preaching ministry is centered on expositional preaching, seeking to faithfully explain the meaning of a biblical text in its context and apply the truth of God’s Word to the lives of our congregation. We desire for the Scriptures themselves to set the agenda for our preaching rather than allowing cultural trends or personal preferences to determine our message.
Both of our current full-time pastors are graduates of The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky.
