Worship Leader

JOB TITLE: True Life Church Worship Leader

RESPONSIBLE TO: Lead Pastor

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Worship Leader will work closely with our Lead Pastor in cultivating worship services and worship teams that lead our congregation to experience the greatness of God in Jesus Christ in the anointing and power of the Holy Spirit.

Fostering dynamic congregational worship, leading the best of modern contemporary songs while occasionally blending classic and timeless selections.

REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS:

• 3+ years of experience leading worship services preferred. 
• Ability to effectively lead a Spirit-led worship experience. 
• A passionate Christ-Follower who loves Jesus and loves people.  
• Excellent leadership and communication skills. 
• Proficiency with musical instruments. 
• Ability to work collaboratively with other team members. 
• A passion for worship and spiritual growth. 
• Be team-oriented, exercise flexibility and agility to adjust to the priorities of the day.
• Be actively involved in the life of the church and pursuing spiritual growth.
• Be proactive and intuitive in problem solving and constructive improvements. 

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Planning our weekly Sunday 10:30am worship service, utilizing Planning Center.
• Choosing congregational songs that engage the worshipers and compliment the preaching of God’s Word.
• Recruiting, auditioning, teaching, and training musicians in the church to serve the congregation as a team with musical skill and humility.
• Leading weekly rehearsals that serve a dual purpose: (A) preparation for Sunday and (B) cultivation of Christ-centered community.
• Building on our traditions and having a vision for where God might be leading this community of believers and musicians to grow in new expressions of worship.
• Serving as a member of the ministry team at True Life Church, demonstrating a commitment to our church community and its mission.
• Participate in various activities, such as worship night, small groups & outreach.
• Develop and maintain relationships with members and attenders of TLC. 
• Work with the church staff to ensure that all services are properly planned and executed.
• Attending Leadership Conferences as deemed appropriate by the Lead Pastor. 
• Attending weekly staff meetings (Thursdays at 9am). 

SUMMARY:

This individual is expected to: (A) be gifted in leading Spirit-led, anointed praise and worship (B) display proficiency with musical instruments (specifically keyboard and/or guitar), (C) possess leadership and organizational skills, and (D) be a team player.
